The new screens look a lot better than the originals. I really hope this turns out good, this could be my new PSO :D
Seems pretty cool.
This could really help the XBox in Japan, and make it a respectable source of RPG's in the eyes of American gamers.
I likes the looks of it, at least. :)
I hope this makes it here, one of my most wanted XBOX Live titles right now :)
It'll be interesting to see how they handle voice support. My guess would be horribly.
how else could they handle it? you'd talk to your teammates....
Mode7, try this for size:
01. If youre in a team, only your teammates voices can be heard.
02. If youre not, you hear voices from people within your proximity. You know, like real life.
As a note, this game looks like what FF11 should've been.
Sounds pretty neat.
Does anyone know how Sega's Farnation/Far Nation is doing? Is it still even being developed? Last I heard it shifted development from the Dreamcast to the X-box.
Too many MMORPGs coming out soon. This one just doesn't look as good as the others...
Option 1 would be all sorts of aggravating, I'd imagine -- hell, it's bad enough in UC. The second would be nice, but only if the voice was fed through the player's TV/stereo/whatever, and not the communicator ear-piece. I can't imagine them having enough sense to implement both.Quote:

Then again, you see something like this and have to wonder if a keyboard might not be such a far-fetched idea.

I hope it would show who's talking, like a little speach bubble with a talk icon or something coming from whoever is talking, similar to how Counter-Strike shows the name next to the icon on the side. I do think that MMORPGs will lose a bit of personality/imagination with voice chat, but they'll gain a lot more functionality.
I don't think voice chat would work well in a fantasy setting for me. It would totally take me out of the game.
Nah, Microsoft could just add some more voice masks:Quote:

Medieval Wench
Chivalrous Knight
Boisterous Evildoer
Elderly Wizard
Sniveling Thief
Merry Barkeep
Use your imagination!
I'm surprised no one here has mentioned that it was likely made to lok like a FF on purpose.
Looks ok but I am starting to get sick of cell shading.
Yep, I was thinking the same thing. :)Quote:

I'd find it kind of creepy to be hanging out online with a bunch of 30 yr. olds pretending to be 5 yr. olds (by the looks of those characters). And hearing "fuck you, you motherfucking cocksucker!!" in my ear with that robot voice would totally kill the whole immersion thing.
Thing is, I can deal with it in Unreal or Mechassault or something. But that atmosphere combined with those TFL images just doesn't jive.
I hope this makes it over here. I'm getting cable BBA this month (DSL is $80 a month here) and am itching for some Xbox Live. :)
It's too much to justify getting it for anything. That's what happens when the only DSL provider in the are is what used to be the biggest state-run monopoly in U.S. jurisdiction (PR Telephone Company).
