Gorillaz DVD released
And it's fantastic. Here's some of what's on it:
-All 4 finished music videos, plus 1 unfinished video (it's fucking amazing too, great song, rough animation/storyboard animatic)
-Full storyboards, full animatics for each video (except Tomorrow Comes Today)
-"Gorilla Bites" 5 short cartoons (anywhere from 45 seconds to over a minute) with animation on par with the videos.
-Gorillaz documentary
-live performances where 3D versions of the characters take the place of a live band.
-tons more.
I haven't even see it all yet, but it's amazing. The storyboards are absolutely gorgeous, and the animatics have rough/cleanup animation sprinkled throughout. Anyone else have this yet? I nabbed the last one at Virgin in SF for $16.99. Quite a steal if you ask me.
note: this is in Sound Off! because I'm in it for the art, not the music. (even though I do like some of their songs) And it's not a movie, so no Cinemania. There.

I'll pick it up soon. I've been a Gorillaz fan for a while--mainly for their music.
-
Cool stuff. I'll pick it up when it gets cheap.
-
Um...exactly how cheap does it have to get?
-
I read that their live show with the flashy 3D dealies lacked somewhat. I like the Gorillaz, but I don't think I will be picking up this DVD.

Damn... If this was posted in Music Discussion, there probably wouldn't even be one reply in it yet. I hate all you lazy bastards who don't visit that forum.
And to stay on topic, it's on my 'to get' list.

The lack of Matthew Good discussion in the music board keeps me away.

i just might have to get this...
