hmm, Sega & Capcom... Secom? Nah, sounds shitty. ;)
Namco & Konami... Namnami? :jest:
Well, any of the possible mergers would be okay with me as long as developers' projects wouldn't be delayed or cancelled in the process. (That means don't mess with Red/Overworks! )
He covers game news in Japan for some people. He owns Tokyopia, I think, as well. He covered Japan games for BBC. Freelances, too. The guy's got contacts. If you read through that thread, you'll read about one of them.Quote:

have it from a rock solid, senior source who is actually the key player in the merger.
:bs:
JC:who is this justin guy?
While I hate to have to try to defend my posts, it's obvious that a lot of people here don't read the Gaming Age boards. The GA boards, as stated by many industry insiders as being the forum of the gaming industry. You get news and you get it first. John TV and Justin are two of the most respected people on the GA forums; they've got contacts in large Japanese game companies, they get lots of inside info first, amongst other things. So, if they say stuff, people who're in the know of the GA boards generally listen.
*shrugs* maybe
But arent you the one who somehow got some insider news on how DQ8 was going to the GC?
Hahaha, nice one Rose :lol:Quote:

Hrm.. Sega + Namco seems to be the leading candidate from the pundits here, but I am having trouble picturing it. Then again, if Sega is one of the companies Namco is probably the best bet (with Capcom second).
I guess this could be a good thing if it's true. It's a helluva lot better than "Sega + Microsoft" anyway! :p
Insider news on DQ8? I don't think I said "insider" about it. But I did say that I was seriously betting on DQ8 on GC and was wrong on that one but I don't remember quoting anyone on it.Quote:

EDITO: Also, not every "insider" is the same person. If I am told something by someone and it turns out to be false, I stop listening to them. "Insider" can mean company official, someone who knows an official or someone who heard from a reliable source, all people more on the "inside" than you or I.
In any case, as I said, speculate away. I just posted what was an interesting rumor on GA, posted by reliable people.
errr..ok fine I'll take your word for it.I'll never click on those forums ever again if it's a lie.=|
Oh yes, and I pay for my mistakes; as stated, if I were wrong about DQ8 I would buy TNL posters a drink a E3 next year (should I have the fundage).
My "source" told me not of DQ8 news but that Square wanted FF1-9 on Nintendo systems. There we are; but that was a while back. So, no insider for DQ8. Just gut feeling.Quote:
Dragon Quest VIII is going to be on a Nintendo platform. I will say that and hold to it, if I am wrong, look me up at E3 and if I have money, drinks are on me (if I don't have money, bugger off). But somehow, MEGATON seems even bigger than DQ8. MEGATON is supposed to move GC units across the globe. So... if you add Square into the mix, it looks like you could easily move units on every shore.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say:
Dragon Quest 8 is a GC/GBA game. It will connect across the systems to share data.
I just have to saw that Sonic and Klonoa in the same game would too cool. Any genre. Any game. Any time. I'd love that. :)
Way cooler than having Mario's lame ass in a Sonic game anyway. :p
