Do any 8 bit or 16 bit game graphics still impress you?

SNES:
Ninja warriors Again - the sprites are nice & big. It is very easy on the eyes & is one of the most visually pleasing SNES games to me.

Hagane - strider with awsome robot ninja character designs.

R•Type 3 - the space station in the first stage is amazing.

Super Ghouls & Ghosts - So few games have as much personality as the G&G series, & this is the visual peak of the series.

Space Mega Force - all the reasons GameOver dude listed.

SMW2 Yoshi's Island

GENESIS:
Gunstar Heroes

Revenge Of Shinobi

M.U.S.H.A.

Wings Of Wor

Castle of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse

Thunder Force 3 & Lightening Force

Aww screw it, there are too many to list. In short, Yes,16-bit games still impress me.

16-bit, ey? How about Pulstar and Mark of the Wolves for starters?

I usually don't think of the Neo Geo when I think of 16-bit games, but it is :)

Definately Pulstar, Blazing Star is also very nice and Mark of the Wolves too :D

Sonic series
Robocop VS Terminator
Vector Man
Batman and Robin

I loooove sprites way better than just about any of these new fangled polygrams you kids are raving about.

Just thinking about the 16bit Square stuff, the Sonics, Marios, Batman on Nes, SG&G, Axelay, the Punch-Outs, Zeldas, any of that old sprite stuff.

I just freaking love it.

I have to say that the orriginal Battletoads on the NES is still graphically impressive.

Nope, after playing so many Playstation games like Battle Arena Toshinden and Tekken, I can't go back to the horrible 16-bit era of graphics...
