Equilibrium - My review

Ah, an Equilibrium Special Edition DVD...like that'll happen. We're lucky we got the 4 minute 'making of' and the two commentaries. I would have liked to at least have a trailer or something, too, if there was one... :(

Dolemite, you can get trailer off the net, but its pretty dumb not to inculde it on the dvd.

Maybe Special Edition will be released somewhere in the world. I will keep my eyes open, but I doubt it :(

I know, I thought there would have been the trailer added to the dvd in the extras. Now that I think about it, I never even saw a preview for the movie until I read your review on it Despair. I'm glad you recommended it because I probably would have never watched it. It is a damn good drama/action flick. I am probably picking it up within the next couple of days.

I'm very glad that my review helped so many people here. There are almost no info on EQ, even after its release, except for the adds they ran before MR, in hopes to attract the Matrix crowd. Its been a long thread, but I'm glad that I made it.

Especially since majority of people who seen the film, actually took my side, and only few who hated it(but it was a good fight with them). EQ is perfect example where a movie was hurt by the lack of the respect for it by the company that was releasing it. If it had more hype, adds, and wider release it could have been a success. Too bad too many people judge the movie by the critic responses or box office take, and not by personal experiences with it.

I don't get it, it got pretty poor reviews by most critics, and I can't really see how they can back them up. I guess it's all personal opinion but I mean this movie was good and original. I hope more people take interest in this dvd, maybe Dimension will release a SE dvd :P (crosses fingers)! :sweat:

Just saw it. It friggin' owned.

Very 1984. Right down to the "two minutes hate."

I just rented this last nite and I was pretty amazed how things turned out. Unlike MR, the gunkata was truely original and I'm not willing to blow a vessle trying to figure out why the hell Dimension just sat on it while they should have known this would be a hit on their hands.

Last scene was really something, I never knew gunplay could turn out to have such a dynamic effect like the way it ended.

Another thank you for Despair. Just watched it, and it was awesome. That final gun battle was one of the coolest scenes I've ever scene, and when Bale is found with the dog, he turns the guns around and blows those 2 guys in the face! Simply awesome. Some of the best action sequences I've ever seen, and the story was pretty clever too.

Excellent. I'm really happy to see more people enjoying this film :p

Rich, I had my jaw on the floor during The Protect Puppy scene when I saw it for the first time too :) The speed and raw energy of the action sequence was just amazing.
