Poll: Jango Fett or Boba Fett?
Like many Star Wars fans, I dig Boba Fett. Granted, he never really did much in the original trilogy other than just stand there looking cool, but that was enough. I've always liked characters with armor and masks/helmets and gadgets. And on the occasions when Fett did do stuff, it was pretty damn cool. He alone found Han Solo when the Empire couldn't. He stood up to Darth Vader and bitched that Han Solo was no good to him dead, and he even smacked around that whiny little bitch Luke Skywalker a little. However, he died in a most embarassing fashion- knocked into the Sarlakk pit by a blind guy. Kinda sad. Still, Fett had armor on and lots of weapons, not to mention a jet pack, so maybe he survived. You never know. As they say, "if you don't see him die, he ain't dead". The Star Wars comics and stuff carry on like he lived, after all.
Anyway, I've thought Fett was cool for years, but now that I've seen his daddy in action, I think Boba has a lot to prove in the upcoming Episode III. Jango Fett was a total bad ass! I loved his fight where he beat down Obi-Wan like a little bitch and dumped him over the side of the station. The headbutt and the way he was dragging Obi around like roadkill with the whipcord was too cool. And I really dug how they gave him his own personality, what with the twin Old West-style pistols and holsters. I loved the spining of the pistol when he holstered it after blowing away that one Jedi near the end of Episode II. He just wasn't a silver Boba Fett, as I thought he was going to be. Hell, he was even a good father! I thought his interaction with little Boba was cool. And Jango even died better than Boba- he got his head chopped off by Mace muthafukin' Windu. Personally, I hope Episode III features a grown-up, pissed off Boba Fett out to off the sucka that killed his pops. I'm sure if that is the case with the sequel, then Boba will redeem himself and will truly earn the killer rep he had in the original trilogy.
