Ultimate Gamers Expo
Just read at gamespot that there will be an Ultimate Gamers Expo to be held August 15-17 in the Los Angeles Convention Center's South Hall. Its going to be completely open to the public and will have tournaments, game design workshops, and also have preview versions of the latest games. You can read more here.

Yep, I saw it at PGC too, sounds like a great idea without the hassle of having to sneak into E3. The only thing is, I wonder if they're going to let everyone in, cuz that might be in too many. I say they ask random questions at the door, like "How do you do a fireball in Street Fighter?" or something.
-
I predict it'll get way too nuts, much like the ones from the early 90s' did.
-
Even though I'm planning on going to e3, this sounds really interesting. I'm wondering if it will be up to calibre tho...i wish they provided more info on the site....like cost, what to look forward to, blah blah....
-
I'm guessing you mean the CES shows from the late 80s early 90s? Wasn't it something like they let the public in for one day or something to that effect?
-
Yeah the CES shows. Apparantly, they got to be madhouses due to all the people.
-
great, another gaming event in CA that i cannot attend...
-
Everything is freakin' west coast. :(
...Even though I'm probably too young anyway.
-
I would be way too scared of insane amounts of thick overcrowding with higher levels of stupidity then normal. That said, it certainly sounds nice on paper.
-
Yeah, its a nice idea, but I bet if things get as chaotic as I think it will, they'll start restricting access or using other means to keep attendance manageable. Its in Los Angeles, so its still pretty much inconvenient for me.
-
It's gotta be better than MAGfest.
But, I'm not going to the West Coast for anything short of Wrestlemania.
-
I've only the the budget for one "800 mile cross country trip to Gameing expo" this year, and it'll be e3. Cool news, although its going to be held at the same time and place as the X-Games.
