Darius R: GBA

I love the Darius series. This is a new, original game, no? Any news on it coming stateside?

Exactly. If it's not coming, at least for a while, then I'm definitely going to import it. My GBA is itching for a shmup after Gradius ($20 for Phalanx? No way), so I want to play this as soon as possible.

I'm imagining if it does come out here, it'll be from either THQ (G.Darius' US publisher) or Acclaim. I've got the import preordered since I think it'll likely be a ways off.

Phalanx and Gradius Galaxies at $20 apiece are the reason you WON'T see this game released here. GBA shooters hit the discount bin quick. Also there's no mention of Bubble Bobble GBA and Elevator Action GBA hitting the US and I think they have a better chance than Darius. Darius R is a port of the original BTW.

anyone got movies/screenshots?

This is slightly OT, but would anyone care to rank the top GBA schmups that have been released so far. I have about 15 GBA games but nary a single schmup so far. I know there are not too many but I have heard good things about both Phalanx and Gradius Galaxies. What should I pick up first? :)

I have same decision to make, Melf. I am anal enough that I like to have uniform boxes on my shelf. The long and skinny Japanese boxes will screw that up, but I am not missing Darius for aesthetics.
