Eminem fans beat up Moby?

I read on another message board that someone's local news said that when the cops found out these guys were Eminem fans...I know that those two (Eminem and Moby) have had words but this is messed up and stupid.

yeah i know its the sun.... but in this case i'm inclined to believe them. And 3 on 1 ? - The one being Moby.... pathetic.

I read about that on www.abstracts.net, I pity the dude. Poor skinny guy gets pummeled by three dudes, not exactly a fair fight.

Moby is bruised and "very curious" after getting jumped Wednesday night outside a Boston club.

After performing at the Paradise Club, the electronic music guru was signing autographs for fans when two or three men attacked him with mace and repeatedly punched him.

"I assumed that a bar fight had spilled out of the bar and that somehow I had gotten caught in the middle of it," Moby wrote on his Web site. "But no. After being punched in the head from behind a few times, I turned around to see what was going on and one of them punched me in the face a couple of times and then they all ran away. So now I'm sitting here bloody and beaten up and waiting to file a police report."

A spokesperson for the Boston Police Department said officers were called to the scene, where they interviewed the owner of the club and doorman, who was also sprayed with mace when he tried to stop the fight. Police later interviewed Moby at his hotel, where he said his glasses broke during the fight, rendering him unable to describe the attackers.

Moby, who has bruises and stitches on his face, wrote on his Web site that he's not badly hurt and that his biggest concern is finding out why he was jumped. He pleaded for one of the attackers to anonymously log on to his message board and explain the incident.

"I'm very curious as to why three men would coordinate an attack on me," Moby wrote. "You know, three against one? And the 'one' in question is me, hardly the most physically threatening person in the world."

In a later posting, Moby said he's not angry with the men and believes in forgiveness. "I just hope that at some point in these guys' lives they come to realize that hurting other people is wrong."

He also speculated on why he was attacked. "Maybe they don't like skinny bald guys who play cover songs. I'm sure that's it. It's my fault. I should've posted a warning on the entrance to the club: 'Warning: Tonight's show will at times be comprised of cover songs poorly played by Moby, a skinny bald musician.' "

Police are searching for two white men, approximately 22 years old. Their tip line is (800) 494-TIPS.

I don't see how the hell that had anything to do with Eminem, or his fans. It may well be people who don't like randomly generated car-commercial music by rich rock stars who pretend they're deeply-spiritual egoless people who just happen to perform at the MTV music awards all the time.

Or maybe Eminem masterminded the whole thing. Who knows?

Yeah, its perhaps a bit too early to say its Eminem fans who did it - but you know how to the press likes to exploit fueds. IMO though, perhaps Moby would have been better off not saying anything about Eminem in the first place - I mean if you don't like the guy, just ignore him.

I had no problem with Moby back when he was making cookie cutter house music. He was just another guy making cookie cutter house music. Then he came out with that punk album, which took some pretty serious stones for a cookie cutter house music guy.

Then he reinvented himself as mr. wishy-washy Ghandi-of-pop-music, with cynical samples of old gospel and spiritual music layered over any-jackass-with-MTV-Music-Generator-can-do-this "hip hop" beats and synth strings.

Of course, he is a deep human being with no ego who is just in it for the art, and bringing glory to God and spreading the word of love throughout the universe. And appearing on every deep, spiritual awards show ever. And selling his deep spiritual songs to deep spiritual automotive conglomerates. And the chicks.

At least Eminem's up front about being a doorknob.

Now that Moby has a messed-up face, who will appear on EVERY VH1 program to make comments about EVERYTHING VH1 viewers find interesting?

I don't follow popular music all that much, so I first noticed Moby because every time I surfed to or past VH1, he was on there talking about one-hit wonders or Mariah Carey or this or that or anything and everything. That man loves to be on TV.

On a side note: I had not heard one complete song from either Eminem or Moby until two days ago when I was eating in a fast-food joint and that nah-nah-NAH-nah song came on.

Here's wishing Moby a quick and painless recovery and here's wishing God showers the world with some more common sense and respect, because obviously some people don't have enough. (Maybe Opa Opa was behind this.)

I used to think that about the Pumpkins, but now I love what they did. A lot of their stuff sucked, but there are some great songs mixed in there.

Uh, what's wrong with Billy Corgan? You don't like his voice? To each his own, I guess. It's not the best singing voice (their covers always sound awkward to me), but it works well with their songs.

Nope, I can't stand his voice at all. Back when I'd listen to the radio, I'd generally listen to the opening of whatever song of theirs would be popular at the time, and the instant his voice started in it was a mad scramble for the dial.

I saw Zwan, Billy Corgan's new band at the Krock show last week. While they sounded good, they were more of a jam band. I think they seriously thought the crowd wasn't there. All 4 guitarists turned around and started jamming with the drummer, they were having a great time. Meanwhile each song is damn near 8 minutes long. Longest set ever.

Oh, and The Vines are TOTAL and COMPLETE garbage. God awful live.

I hate how he goes around insulting Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Moby, wishes his mother were dead, insults his father, ex wife, and ayone else within 100 yards; then cries about how "misunderstood" he is.:rolleyes:

O/T, but if you're interested, the first Zwan album is set to come out January 28. You can stream the first single at www.zwan.com, and it sounds great. The songwriting is simpler than a lot of Pumpkins stuff, but it's catchier. Corgan also seems to be putting more effort into producing better vocals.
