RUMOR: Jet Set Radio 2 on Gamecube

Take this with a grain of salt.

Please note that this is tagged as rumor since Sega has yet to make any official claims on the subject.

A little over a week after the announcement that Jet Set Radio would be showing up on Gameboy Advance, reliable sources are hinting that a sequel to the Dreamcast original, based on the canceled Jet Set Radio 2, will land on the GameCube. Unlike Jet Set Radio Future for Xbox, the GameCube Jet Set Radio will return to it's Dreamcast roots, providing a much more challenging experience which many felt was lacking in it's Xbox incarnation.

I'd love to see a more direct sequel to JSR, but I hope Smilebit also implements JRSF's lack of time restraint. Maybe there could be two modes: Story mode and free-roaming mode, for when I just want to skate & grind aimlessly.

Damn awesome if it turns out true.

I didn't even know there was a DC Jet Set 2 in development... Anyway, I'm all for any new console JSRs.

I second your thoughts. Boy, there sure are a ton of juicy rumors going around this month. I wonder how many will actually end up being true?

Um, the only problem with this is... Jet Set Radio Future IS the Jet Set Radio 2 that was announced for Dreamcast. Sega has admitted as much in the past. The game was supposed to come out on DC even after the 3rd party announcement. It was even confirmed on that fateful day. MS basically bought the game for Xbox.

So.. this rumour is probably BS.. but I hope hope hope that it is based on some small grain of truth.. which is that some JSR game is in development.

Please be true, please be true... and put some of the Beastie Boys music in it too, huh. Smilebit already came close with the Latch Brothers.

Er, there was a JSR 2 planned for DC??? I dunno about that.

everything would have gone to DC if they hadn't gone 3rd party.. everything.... JSR2, monkey ball, HOTD3, VF4, shinobi, PDO etc etc.

i guess the industry as a whole is better off since they haven't, otherwise the DC would have a ridiculously lopsided advantage over any other consoles.

I have a small update I am working on with a few GBA and Dreamcast reviews - plus a new PS2 section. Maybe I'll make some SMS ones soon too. Thanks for looking. ;)
