Morrowind
posted this on shack, but I figure there are some pc mw players here also who might dig this. take a look!
What is it?
Morrowind Redux, a mod designed and developed by one man, released about a week ago. It rebalances all aspects of Morrowind, increasing the overall level of difficulty as an indirect result of the changes, but much more importantly, fixing broken aspects of the game (Training, Enchantment), enhancing cumbersome ones (Alchemy, Potions), entirely revamping others (Spellcasting, NPC Spellcasters), and improving many other aspects of the game. The mod also features 28 megs worth of graphic enhancements, ranging from vastly improved faces done by an Unreal skinner, to new (beautiful!) suits of armor and some weapons. Core gameplay changes are kept to a minimum, this is far from a monty haul modification.
There are far too many changes to list here, so go here for the readme: http://www.shackspace.com/~gauss@sha...com/readme.txt
Where is it?
Here: http://benchmarksims.com/morrowind/m...nd%20redux.zip
If you have Tribunal installed, you can also get this: http://benchmarksims.com/morrowind/morrowind%20redux%20(tribunal%20esp).zip
That contains a slightly updated .esp, which is compatible with Tribunal. Note that he has just begun work on Tribunal changes, so this is still primarily a pure Morrowind modification. Also, the Dark Brotherhood assassins from Tribunal will throw the early game money gain out of whack severely, since they are easy to defeat and drop armor that is disproportionately valuable.
Finally, here is a link to the thread on the Morrowind forums discussing this mod: http://makeashorterlink.com/?W5A7216C2
You MUST start a new game to play this mod, and it is highly likely that using other mods with it will NOT work due to the sweeping changes to all areas of the game.
Enjoy, I know I am :)

Great. I have a friend who stopped playing because of the little annoying problems. I have a feeling he will be exstatic! :)

I just (I mean *just*) started a new game. So. I guess I'll install this thing and see what happens.
Updates to follow.
