I have wondered this many times myself.. when I first got GBA it took me weeks to get used to that tiny crappy thumb-destroying D-pad on the GBA.

It's not just that Nintendo didn't copy the clicky stick from NGPC.. that may have ben hoping too much.. but my goodness... how far have we progressed from the piece of shit NES plussy?! Hello Nintendo... The least they could have done was use something which could work easily with diagonals.. *grumble*

Btw: NGPC clicky-stick = best hardware invention ever. :)

For pure functionality, I elect the PS2 standing upright on the stand. I often have to make the painful decision of which systems go in my meager entertainment center, and which ones go into storage. for this reason I also elect the Gamecube and Psone, the latter always reminds me of a tan, plastic sandwich.

But for pure style, the sexy curves of the Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis win out.

Dead last goes to the Jaguar CD toilet.

EDIT: oops! someone beat me to the toilet gag! Guess you can't win them all...:D

Unforunately, the peformance of the system isn't quite as imposing as its appearance IMHO. Still a great system, though, and an excellent complement to any PCE collection. :)

Edit: Do you mean a black Mark III or an actual SMS design? Because I know about that....

Strangely enough, I have found that some of th4e more quirky designs have grown on me, like when you are freinds with a girl, and the sheer beauty of her soul begins to fill out whatever imperfections she may have physically. But I always was a romantic in that way.

sggg, I can't find the pic I saw but it's an SMS-design Mark III with Japanese Phantasy Star in it. The only difference I remember seeing from the SMS was the size of the cartridge slot.

I always thought the coolest looking system was that little white PC-Engine. I never did like the big chunky black Turbo we got in the US.

Ugliest system has to be the Pokemon themed N64.

And I totally want one of those Mark IIIs now. I wonder if Shou-Sama has an extra one he wants to sell or something.
