"Freddy vs. Jason (SPOILERS): Robert Englund talked the horror teamup on MSN last night and revealed one of the alternate endings filmed for the project will make an appearance: "One thing you'll see that I know of, because I haven't worked on my segment yet, one thing you can look forward to is one of the original endings that we shot with Jason Ritter. He's our reluctant hero. You'll see him with Monica Keena during their first time (nudge, nudge, wink, wink) and he starts to wiggle and you see his hand turn into a familiar shape. We decided not to use that ending because some test audiences thought there would be a "Son of Freddy" movie"
Hmm. Son of Freddy
Helloween: This has to be one of the more silly ideas I've heard since FvJ hit big. Seems that according to Creature Corner, Dimension Films is scrambling to find a way to bring its two big 80's horror movie icons together in a duel - in other words yes its Halloween's Michael Myers vs. Hellraiser's Pinhead. This nutty idea however isn't exactly new - "House of the Dead" scribe Dave Parker once pitched a concept to Dimension involving the pair and in fact spent his own money putting together a trailer to show what it could look like - Parker may try again now it seems.
 If it comes true, I hope that Pinhead will rip Michael Myers a new asshole with his chains
The only problem is that everybody knows who Freddy and Jason are. They're horror icons. Pinhead and Myers aren't, so much.
Not true. There is Halloween films released almost every year now, and Hellraiser series will have 8 films, when 2 new sequels released this Fall. People know who MM and Pinhead are. And even if they dont remember the names, they will recall guy with nails in the head and white masked killer.
Bruce Campbell's Next: Radio station WRKR talked with Bruce Campbell yesterday and was asked right up front about rumors of his possible involvement in the "Freddy vs. Jason" sequels. 'Jeremiah' was listening and gives us a report: "He says that right now it's all internet mumbo-jumbo, and there's no sort of truth to any of to the rumors as of yet. He says the cool thing is that with the amount of money that F vs J made this weekend, they're like heroes again. The ultimate thing to do would bring back Ash and kind of finish off the three series. "I'm sure I can outrun hockey-mask man. But Freddy's got the quips, so I'd have to have Sam Raimi write all my lines for me. Cuz, you know, you have to take these guys down before you take them out". Other than that, he touched briefly on his involvement in "Kalamazoo?", and about the fact that he thinks cameos are the best roles. "You can come on screen, say 'Here I am!', and walk off!" Bruce, is of course, a Michigan native, so he has personal interest in the movie".
The last 4 Hellraiser movies have been direct to video. Does it still have a following big enough for people to turn out in theatres? I'll be honest, I care so little for both of those characters I'd wait for video. And the last Halloween flick was supposed to be pretty awful (oddly enough Halloween H20 did pretty well).
No one will care. Both Myers and Pinhead are considered B-list killers. They'd make good additions to a FvJ sequel but they couldn't hack it in a stand-alone movie. As Rumpy pointed out all the Hellraiser movies are direct-to-video, which is never a good sign for a series that was once considered big-time. And the Halloween movies aren't really successful because of Michael Myers, it's just because they're horror movies and all horror movies tend to be successful because they cost nothing to make so it's dead (heh) easy to turn a profit on them. After all, when you say, "Oh the new Jason or Freddy movie is coming out" everyone knows what you're talking about. If you say "The new Michael movie" people don't think Michael Myers, they think Michael Jackson, which is pretty scary anyway. :) You're not an icon until the public knows you on a first-name basis.Quote:

Oh, BTW. I went in to Freddy vs. Jason being a huge Jason fan and wanting him to rip Freddy a new one. Now I'm a Freddy fan. Jason is still cool, but the way Freddy kills is just so stylish and off the wall.
Plus he's a stalker and very dramatic. Very fun to watch.
Exactly! Freddy and Jason still have a following. When ya put them together, you get the best opening of either franchise. The only VS horror flick that I could see working would be Alien vs. Predator. They have a history, they have fans, and the have material you can base it off of.Quote:

One problem is that most of his kills are drawn out, they can get pretty lengthy and take up a lot more time than Jason's work (like I said a few posts ago Freddy only averages about 4 kills a movie). But they can get around that...you just have to be creative. They should have called me up, I would have written a good kill for them. I've been kicking around the idea of writing a Nightmare screenplay. I have 3 deaths mapped out right now, but that hardest part is starting the movie. Really hard to get Freddy back into things without it being lame.
In the montage at the start we get to see some of his best moments, but we're left high and dry on the Freddy kills in FvJ. One more is all I ask!
Yeah, Jason is usually pretty fast and efficient with his kills. He will stalk his prey somethimes, but overall his kills tend to be less...shall we say..."artistic" than Freddy's. Jason seems more concerned with just killing his victims than toying with them, for the most part. Thus, Jason tends to average his kills per movie in the teens as opposed to Freddy's 4, especially when Jason goes for the double impalements. :)Quote:

Interesting. How do the 3 deaths play out?Quote:

You know, all this Freddy Vs. Jason is making me want to play some good ol' Splatterhouse again. It's cool that Jason has a series of games inspired by his antics... :D

I can remember seeing the box for Splatterhouse and being shocked at wtf you did in that game. Splatter is an understatement. Shit is everywhere. I never did get to play it.
Thanks for that link Dole.
I don't want to give it all away (and I don't feel like typing for an hour) so I'll give you a rough idea of what I've thought up.
I want to keep it to "fear" dreams where the characters weakness/worries/fear comes into play and then it just gets fucking crazy for the kill. First is a girl character who's a bit of a hypocondriac (sp?). She hates getting dirty and constantly washes her hands etc. In her dream she gets dirty (I have this worked out how Freddy does it, not sure if it'll work though) and takes a shower (potential tit shot here). Then to cap it off, something happens with the soap (think flesh eating, more she scrubs/gets wet the worse it gets) or she gets covered in acid (the shower head changes to someone we recognize and the water stops, she gets closer to the shower head to investigate and then BAM no way out of that one). Could make for a wild effect.
Other one has to do with teeth. I had a dream where my teeth came loose and started coming out, so I thought up an exploit of that one. Deciding if the tongue will get involved...I'd like to get the audience to cringe a lot with this one because I think a lot of people have teeth/mouth dreams.
Last one is with eyes. I had a dream where I couldn't see at all, everything was blurry and no matter what I did I couldn't see shit (and people were calling me for something important to do). It sucked. So this character is going to have glasses. They'll get knocked off and Freddy messes with them. Character puts them back on and he can't see shit (nice POV shot here). So he takes them off...and it doesn't change. He starts panicking, and in the end his eyes explode/fall out/get cut out. I havn't nailed down the end.
I'd also like to get a head popper in there. Part 6 had a good take on that, but they way the pop was done you don't really see anything. This morning I thought of a way to have a kid who wants to be a pop star/rapper meet his demise in the recording booth. Heh. Lot's of fun in that one.
