Official Freddy Vs. Jason thread

That some inventive and cool ideas Rumpy :) I hope that if they continue with FvsJ, or give us new movies in each of those series, we can get some more inventive kills. Jason machete shlashes are good, but time for Jason to try few new ways :)

Nice list, but it missing some great deaths, like Puppet Walk from Nightmare 3. I mean it was cooler than suck out kiss. I also would have chosen Freddy Bike, which was quite inventive. But seeing Freddy in game, and Nerd Wizard kills made me laugh :lol:

Oh, I love Splatterhouse series. First time I saw it, I was like :eek: It is F13 game??? :lol:

FvsJ still a king at the box office. Made another 13.5 million with total of 61 million made over the course of 2 weeks. They report that it had 30 million budget(hmm, I heard it was lower than that), so its a pretty good money maker.

Yeah, they overdid the machette slashes in FvJ a tad, but in the regular F13 movies Jason experimented with all sorts of things, from tree branch trimmers to party horns! Honk! :)

I've read on several sites that the budget was 25 million. Oh well, whatever it was, the movie's made back more than double what it cost to make it in 2 weeks- a money maker like that is sure to get a sequel. I hope they handle it as well as the original. Ronny Yu's already said he'd be interested in directing it.

In contrast, I still don't think Terminiator 3 has crossed the 170 million mark at the box office, which is what it cost to make. Just goes to show you that near-unlimited budgets can hurt you in the long run. They could have done that movie cheaper, I didn't see anything that made it that much craizer than T2 effects-wise, which cost only 100 million. Granted, that was years ago and things cost more now, but an extra 70 million?

Of course, 30 of that went to Arnold...but he deserved every penny. I mean, it's Arnold! :)

Man, I still dont understand how could that movie coust 170 mill, even with 30 million Arnie sallary. It didnt had THAT crazy fx, or extreme action and destruction, nor it had high paid actors, other than Arnold. Where did the money go.

I really hope they don't decide to make a fvj sequel, unless it has a gimmick, such as fvj VS whoever.

I don't think a lot of people would pay to see another fvj movie if it's the same premise as the first one. i know i probably wouldn't.

I agree, another FvJ sequel wouldn't have the same impact unless they mixed in another horror icon or two.

I have a hard time believing that price tag. (not saying you're wrong. I'm just saying the source you got it from) Something like LOTR, which is higher in quality and has more technology than a Terminator 3 only cost 103 million to make for Fellowship, and 94 for Two Towers and Return of the King. They made 1.3 billion off of the first movie alone, but you get the point.

If they spent 170 million on T3, and that was the outcome, then whoever lost all that money deserved it.

If they make a F vs. J 2 and there is still no clear cut winner, I'm not going to see it.

They definatly need to up the creativity of kills for the next one. More Freddy (like I need to say it again) and more varity for Jason. While he was killing left and right, he didn't have more than one or two really wild kills (limited him to the machete the whole movie).

As much as I love this movie, I gotta vote no on the idea of a sequel. It would just cheapen this one. I mean, New Line held out for 15 years to get the perfect script for this movie(for those that didn't know, 1988's F13: The New Blood was originally going to be F vs J) and them rushing out a sequel would probably mean a drop in quality.

But who knows? Maybe they'll just continue with new additions to the Nightmare and F13 properties. Noone can say for sure.

I'd rather see a new Nightmare movie and a new Friday movie than FvJ 2. I don't know where'd you go with it. And adding any other villian would be stupid.

No one in Lord of the Rings was paid even close to 30 million dollars like Arnold was. Also, the Rings movies were shot in New Zeland, where things were a lot cheaper to do than in LA, where T3 was shot. As for the 170 million price tag, it's commonly reported knowledge. I've seen that amount quoted in every single article I've ever read about T3. So, it cost 140 million to make T3, minus Arnold's salary. I can see how that could happen given the way they overspend on most U.S.-made Hollywood blockbusters. I have more respect for someone like Peter Jackson who can make a movie that looks as great as that LOTR movies for way less cash. I mean, for T3's budget he could have made Fellowship and 2/3 of Towers. :)

Good point about New Line holding out for the perfect script. I think that perhaps FvJ refreshed both the Friday and Nightmare movies. I wouldn't be suprised to see new ones from both series. However, none of the Jason X or New Nightmare shit. New Line should realize from this movie that there's no need to do new takes on Freddy or Jason. FvJ presented both characters in their old-school personas and looks and that's why audiences have made it the #1 movie 2 weeks in a row.

I'd like to see another FvJ, btu only if the same amount of care was put into it as with the first one. Oh, and Jason has to win again. ;)

Oh, and I knew about Friday the 13th Part 7...after the whole thing with Freddy fell through, they put that 'Carrie' chick in it instead. I liked Part 7, personally.
