Anyone remember when I posted this pic of some 12-inch Freddy, Jason, and Leatherface dolls a while back?
http://www.celluloidshockers.com/sideshow.jpg
Well, they're out now. The Jason one is pretty cool (although, unlike in the pic, you can see his eyes clearly through the eye-holes of the mask), but the Freddy doll looks retarded. Well, the sweater does, anyway. Unlike in the pic, the hem and sleeves of his sweater aren't frayed, they're cut in these retarded looking squared-off looking sections and it makes it look like a sweater a Ken doll would wear. Otherwise, he looked good, but the sweater irked me. Oh, well. Anyway, the place I saw them at was selling them for $34.99. Leatherface looked fine. Just thought I'd pass it along.
Also, I asked the guy behind the counter and they expect to got in the 18-inch sound-activated Jason in 2-3 weeks, and the 12-inch official Freddy Vs. Jason dolls early next year.
Yeah, the F vs. J figures come out March 2004, which means they'll prolly be up for pre-order soon. My Jason figure(the one above) arrives here tomorrow. Saw it at the store, and I like it.
Saw the Freddy vs Jason DVD in a video store the other day, not legit of course but the cover was pretty cool, and they even threw in the trailer I believe.
Well, the Freddy vs. Jason figures are availiable for pre-order at Sideshowtoy.com
They each come with an exclusive accessory if you are one of the first 500 orders.

As for the teddy bear itself, I wonder if that was just a publicity photo or a deleted scene? If it's a deleted scene, I'm sure it'll turn up on the DVD...I can't wait for an announcement about that.
Another cool shot of the Jason figure...

lol, it looks like Jason dipped the machete in a vat of grease or something.
Those Figures kick serious ass. If Suncoast has the Friday The 13th Part 3 Jason toy when I go there today, I'll buy it without hesitation.
On the Freddy side of things, I've been trying to organize my VHS tapes, many of which are not labled. I found a really old special called Elm Street USA. It's about how popular Freddy and the Elm Street movies are, and has a bunch of behind the scenes shit about the making of Nightmare 4. I wish I had recorded the commrcials, you can see quick glimpses of "Commander USA" (anyone remember him?) who was apparently hosting the show.
Quite a blast from the past.
I was thinking it looked more like someone cleaned their very nasty ears with it.Quote:

Wow, that's a lot of good news. The FvJ DVD sounds like it's going to be amazing! New Line always goes all-out on their Platinum Collectors edition DVDs. I can't wait to listen to the two commentary tracks...the one with Ronny Yu should reveal a lot of cool info about the making of the movie, and the Englund/Krikzinger track should be a lot of fun, as I'm sure they'll be goofing around and stuff.Quote:
The Freddy vs.Jason DVD
“There are so much Freddy fans, and there are so much Jason fans. Probably about fifty-fifty. I wanted to make sure I wouldn’t upset anyone. I wanted everyone to walk out of the cinema with big smiles on their faces. So we shot two endings, and at the end I could present them both and see which one was the best. Ultimately, the other ending – the one you see now – was the one that satisfied the fans the most”. Yu says that other ending will be on the forthcoming DVD. “It will be on there. Most definitely. But I’m not telling you who wins in that one”, he laughs. “There’s a great DVD coming actually. I love it. It’s called a Platinum Collectors edition and it’ll be two discs. On the first disc we will have this whole feature on the evolution of both series with interviews and everything, leading right up to Freddy vs. Jason. And then we have some deleted scenes, including some of the CGI stuff that I just didn’t think worked. There are also two commentaries - One just me by myself, and then one with Englund and the guy that plays Jason”.
Freddy vs Jason 2 and the Elm Street Prequel
And with “Freddy vs.Jason” doing so well at the overseas box office, is there talk of any more? “After the box office returns on this one, they’re already taking about it. And if they want me back, I’d be happy to come back. The fans really want another one. This time, I think we should split Freddy and Jason up though and bring in someone like Michael Myers”. Yu says he’d also be interested in directing the much-talked about “Elm Street” prequel, that Robert Englund’s flying the flag for. “I’d love to. Robert is so for it. I mean, he’s so into Freddy. He’s just so good at it.”
