According to the review you posted a link to, the quality of the cut footage on the extras disc is fine...the pic you posted of Jason jumping from the lake is from the original ending of Part 7 that was discarded by the director in favor of the one we got, not because the ratings board ordered it cut. So, it's just a work print (which explains the time index and everything) that's been sitting in a vault for years. Supposedly the director of 7 has kept all the cut footage from that movie in perfect condition in case it was ever needed for a future release.

BTW, no one better get cute and make a Freddy Vs. Jason Vs. Ash thread...this is the definitive thread for all Freddy and Jason-related discussion. :D I'll change the thread title when we get 100% confirmed news that this is happening.

Well, I'm wary about it but I have hope they'll hook us up with another great movie. It's going to be a long time before we see anything, but perfection takes time.

Indeed...I mean, once they get through the red tape there's the little matter of writing a script, which of course will take a lot of fine-tuning before they give it the green light.

However, they better get their asses rolling...despite still looking pretty good, Bruce is in his late 40's, and he ain't getting any younger. He can't rely on prostetics or a hockey mask to make him look the same like Freddy and Jason do.

Bruce is eternal. He'll be able to do it. God I hope this turns out good. I just have one request. Give Freddy some nightmare scenes. It was a crime he only got one kill in FvJ. I mean he still has it man! He got a few jumps out of the audience when I saw it in theatres. Considering that was practically his best performance and got only one "meh" kill, we need to see him back in killing form! Think of all the crazy shit they could have him do now.

The last few Nightmare movies REALLY made Freddy look like a total joke...I'm so glad they went with the more old-school scary Freddy in FvJ. He just seemed far more evil. It went a long way to making him seem somewhat legit again.

At least Jason never got watered down in the Friday series. Sure, they stuck him in some gay situations (space?!?), but he remained the silent, bad-ass killing machine all throughout.

My problem with having Ash in FvsJ is that, they will have to make him the winner, otherwise ED franchise will end, and countless fans of ED and Bruce, will rip creators of the movie, a new asshole.

That mean, Freddy and Jason will have to play second fiddle to almighty Ash. Fuck that.

Ash is the only mortal character. They've killed Freddy and Jason millions of times, and they always come back. If Ash dies, he's dead. I don't see the problem here...it's not like in any scenario they'd have Freddy or Jason win no matter who there were fighting. That just doesn't happen in these movies. They're bad guys.

I mean, would you rather have that stupid chick with the big fake tits (stock horror movie character #3321071) chop off Freddy's head again, or Bruce Campbell, which would be much cooler and actually believable?

Well, I would prefer neither.

With Ash, you would know who would win. And I dont like that. I do dig Cambell though :)

Come on, Despair, we all know there are no suprises in these movies...did you really sit on the edge of your seat in the original FvJ, wondering who was going to win?
