Yes, the 32X is completely compatible with the CDX. The reason for the urban legend about the 32X causing problems is that the CDX both stated it was not compatible with the 32X. They are compatible, Sega didn't get the testing and approval completed in time so they say that it's not compatible to avoid legal problems.
I think what jeremy meant was that Sega couldn't SAY that it worked since it wasn't approved by the FCC. Anyone could call up and say "32x broke my CDX" and Sega would have been at fault if they said it was supposed to work. Everyone I know who has that setup says it works just fine...Quote:

Yeah, the 32x and CDx work fine together..and I actually prefer it since the CDX has a stronger video signal that the genny 2. Maybe it's just my Genesis 2, but there is some screen static when used with the 32x which is eliminated when I use the CDX.
Only problem is that you can't open the cd door with the 32x on top.
all this discussion about 32x and cdx compatibility...you guys must be itching to play the enhanced version of slam city...
No but we are itching to play and enchanced version of Blackthrone (that game was good and it was best on the 32x)
