I've signed up for cable internet and am in the last stages of preparing for Live. I have a PRO200 100/10Mbps Fast Ethernet PCI-Bus Adapter, and plan to buy a router (Belkin Gateway Router) so I can have my Xbox and PC connected at the same time.
Am I missing anything? Should the router need to be configured, the cable guy can help me out with that when he installs the line at my house.

I was looking at that last night but my provider isn't on their list. I don't think there should be any problems but I'm not sure, so I thought I'd ask.

The biggest thing an ISP affects is your upload speed. For example, I have a cable modem, but my cable company caps upload @ 128K. On a good day, I get 64K upload. This means I can host myself and a guest in Ghost Recon (if I owned GR, that is). It also means I'm constantly lag-a-riffic in MechAssault. Hopefully you're provider caps at the normal 256K upload.
Also, many cable providers have begun using your PC NIC MAC address as your 'authentication'. This means your router, by default wouldn't do anything for you. However, you can 'clone' your PC MAC address in the router, and all is good. I've found that the cable company never, ever helps set up routers. (Even though they cap your bandwidth, they think running multiple PCs on that bandwith is akin to stealing. Kinda like Ford telling you putting more than 1 person in your Mustang is wrong).
Also, you might want to hard code your MTU setting in the router to 1465, I think (search for MTU on xbox.com's forums. It's there somewhere). Last but not least, try and get the latest firmware on your router.
