Usually no, but lately I did get warranty on my PS2, and Cube, since I bought them at EB.
My Xbox came from Wallmart, so no warranty there.
Warranties are good on controllers though.
I've not bought warranty for anything... it hasn't bit me in the back yet.
Do Not!! I repeat, Do Not buy a warranty from GameStop!! I personaly haven't had much of a problem with them but here's their pollicy:
If you buy a warranty on a new console for one year, you buy the warranty for that console only! What I mean is, if you return your system for whatever reason your extended warranty ends right there. Say you buy a PS2 with the $20 1 year warranty and 3 months later it craps out on ya. There goes the other 9 months you paid for and the clerk will ask you "Would you like to buy an extended warranty on this new console?"
Well go screw yourself GameStop!
Yes. If I can pay 30 bucks to cover a system for 3 years, full exchange, no questions asked, you betcha. The Xbox has a hard drive. Hard drives are notorious for failing. I can pay MS $60 for a one year warranty with 4 week turn around time on replacement, or CompUsa $30 for 3 years and instant replacement. It's game insurance. :)
Same here. Oddly enough, I've never had a single problem with any Sony product I've ever bought. I must be lucky. :)Quote:

Oh, and to go back on topic...
I do buy a warranty on my systems if I can. I did for my PS2 and 6 months later I had to return it. My Gamecube lasted 11 months and back to GameStop it went. My Xbox, however, was bought for $110 used at a little game shop and no warrantys there but I'm not worried about it, the xbox is the only system I've had work perfectly so far (other than the N64).
i bought i warranty for my used saturn at EB, since the guy gave me 10 dollars off (he thought it was a genesis, so he gave me the genesis price), it was only 6 bucks for it...
but that's it...
I always buy the warranty, if I have the money to do so when I buy the system. Normally, I'll hold off on buying a system until I can afford the warranty. I'll probably buy one when I get an Xbox. I figure that $20-$30 is a drop in the bucket in the end, especially since, odds are, I'll use it at least once.
I bought one for the Xbox since you never know what kind of defects and problems a launch machine has. BUT as a general rule, store provided extended warranties are a rip off and totally not worth your money. (Which is why they push them so hard at the time of sale)...
