No source credited and Ubi Soft's not updated their site. It seems like it would be the correct waiting period for Xbox exclusivity. Can this be verified?Quote:

The PS2 version of the game I've known about for a while. Totally forgot about the GC version. SC doesn't have online play.
I'm not sure about the rumor of it coming to another system, but I personally would never play it anywhere except Xbox and maybe PC as long as it had 5.1 sound (I say maybe because I don't like sitting in a computer chair playing games). Gamecube might be able to duplicate the game graphically, but without any kind of discrete audio, the game would be a bit harder to play. PS2 could never duplicate the game graphically, but could do the discrete audio if Ubisoft uses EA's DTS technology.
If you only have a GC or a PS2, the game is worth picking up, it'll just be a much harder and/or uglier game. :sweat:
As for online, the Xbox version will have downloadable levels which may or may not come with the other 2 when and if they're shipped.
It's coming to GC and PS2, but the control alone would turn me off on it for those systems.

Good god, haha. I know that there are people out there without 5.1 playing the game on the Xbox, I was just pointing out that being able to hear the direction of guards/cameras/etc is extremely helpful in playing the game. I don't think 5.1 is that expensive or technophile anymore. I've seen speaker/receiver sets for $150...well worth the cost.Quote:

I know, I know. Having to put up with my dad being obnoxious to the relatives has made me contrary. ;)
I understand that it helps, but I doubt the core gameplay experience wouldn't be transferred to the other consoles. It's like playing it on my 27" TV with stereo, then going to someone else's place and playing it on a 52" TV with 5.1 -- there's always a better experience out there. I just want to play the game on what I've got, not buy a whole new system to do so... :p
I'm not playing with any kind of fancy sound setup, but the gameplay will most certainly be hurt by the PS2/GC controller. This game more than probably any other game ever needs extremely precise analog sticks, which the PS2/GC just don't have.
Lighting is pivotal to this game. And yes, to gameplay. That alone makes me skeptical of any port jobs.
