I have System Shock 2. I know of Clive Barker's Undying. Are there any other good PC horror games? I'm interested in action/adventure and FPS-style games but not Myst-style snore fests. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Aliens vs Predator 2 is kind of horror-ish and it's pretty good.
I would avoid Resident Evil-type games on PC like Nocturne.
Enemy Zero , if you dont have the Saturn version.
I'll definitely pick that up as soon as I can run it. I enjoyed the first game.Quote:

I used to have the Saturn version, but I am glad you reminded me that there was a PC version.Quote:

Harlan Ellison's "I Have No Mouth But I Must Scream" is awesome (but dated), and the three Gabriel Knight games are must haves as well.
Other games for consideration should be: Phantasmagoria (yeah, I know, I know), Alien vs. Predator (1 & 2), and believe it or not -- Shivers (LOL).
Give those games a try (you've done well to pick up System Shock).
If you can find the CD version of System Shock (the original) pick it up. It has aged VERY well...
I still find myself being frightened by it
Any idea if that will run under XP? If not, I'll need to run it on my current system I guess.Quote:

Yoshi~
You can run it under XP. Just make sure you set the application properties to "Windows 98" when you install it/run it.
American McGee's Alice definitely deserves a mention. Return to Castle Wolfenstein, maybe? I don't know how much of a horror game that is though.
sulk~
Oh yes! How could I forget about Alice? It'll be interesting to check out how American McGee's Wizard of Oz turns out when all is said and done.
System Shock 1 is far less horror-like than its sequel but it can be scary at times. I would warn anyone going to play SS1 that the control is very outdated and overly complex. But if you overlook that and its 1994 3d graphics, you'll find a fantastic game that is better than its sequel in some ways.
Aliens vs. Predator, playing as the Marine, without music, on the original version where you can't save mid-mission, late at night. Quite possibly the most frightening experience I've ever encountered in a videogame.
Oh, and if you're looking towards the future as well, keep an eye on Call of Cthulhu.
AvP as the Marine is scary as hell. I will suggest Clive Barker's Undying.

The original Alone In The Dark is a classic I'd recommend and even though you said not to mention snorefests like Myst, I'll go out on a limb and still recommend 7th Guest (it's not a bore, IMO).
Sanitarium is about 5 years old, but very good...very, very creepy...
I had that at some point, and it was a f'ed up game.Quote:

Yeah, I still need to get Undying. I've been meaning too, but keep forgetting. System Shock games as well, since I heard so many good things about them.
