Unreal Championship: playing times

I should be on tonight, starting at around 8-10 mountain time, and up until the wee hours of the morning. I'll likely host some smaller instagib deathmatch rounds, but I'd be game for some bombing runs too if anyone shows up.

About the game itself: It's a tough one to get into, I must admit. But once you do, you might as well get that communicator surgically implanted. I'm certainly not the best of players, but I can show the ropes and a couple neat tricks to any TNL FNGs that want to hook up. I'd very much like to see some TNL folks as hopelessly addicted to the game as I am.

I'd be more than happy to join you, unfortunatley, I only have the Moto GP demo and Mech Assault.

How long would it take to get used to playing with a controller for someone who never played any of the big name Console FPS games?

Mode, check your friend's requests...and I get my @$$ kicked regularly in UC, I need some major tips...

RedTerrier: I was just on and didn't see a friend's request. If it doesn't turn up next time, I'll just shoot one your way.

I found the control awkward at first, even considering I'm no stranger to FPS-ing with a pad. I warmed up to it pretty quickly, though, and find it works very well. Scrolling through weapons and hitting those quick 180s is practically second nature by now.

Saw Chux for a bit tonight in a CTF match, but he was in, out and back on MechAssault awfully quick. Damn you, Chux, damn you!

I had one or two matches with Chux before everyone left, I remember seeing Ampresand, Chux, Nigel and one or two other people from TNL all in there, then some guy xCxBx or something got all pissed off at me so we did one 1 on 1-ing while chux went and destroyed some buildings, its was a blast considering it was my first time every playing Mech Assault.

Tough to get into? Unreal is the best gaming purchase I've made in a while. My favorite FPS since Goldeneye. I'll be sure to hook up with some of you at some point. AFX of Heavens is my gamertag.

What I mean by 'tough to get into' is that the game can be quite intimidating, as there are some seriously good players out there. It took me awhile to get to the point where I could even hold my own.

I actually played for the first time today, and went online. Lost the first game, lost the second by 1 fucking frag. Just simple 8 player deathmatch shit, but I was still proud that I didn't get my ass handed to me.

We'll have to hook up -- I'll add you to my friends list tonight. I'd love to get some 4 player survival matches going with the TNL folk.

RedTerrier: I saw you for a bit in that CTF match on maul. Tried to say hi, but for some reason no one could hear me. Happens every so often, for whatever reason.

My profiles: EHM, MODE, or MODE7. Generally MODE, though.

Mode, I woulda stuck around longer but Lag + Insta Gib = Pissed.

I really don't dig Insta Gib matches, but I'll tolerate them if I get a steady server.
