I'm sorry, Aurora, but that's not true. Politicians like Liberman(sp?)needed a boost of credibilty to win more votes, so they went for the one thing that couldn't defend itself; videogames. Games like GTA just add fuel to the flame that is the senators and mayor's egos. They saw videogames as an easy scapegoat to win over more vote(r)s, and they took it. The ESRB came about because the parents/politicians/idiots all jumped on the bandwagon, and the industry needed to do something to quiet the harsh cries of blame. The ESRB wasn't created voluntarily; the overly-conscious public created it. And it's STILL not enough for some people. Go figure.

It's not going to DO anything. It never has.

My point was that people complain, but it won't affect anything to the extent of not being able to see it again. If anything, things will only get more violent and more controversial over time. That's how things work, not in the opposite.

It made the ESRB come about, that's for sure.You think the game companies wanted to limit sales by marketing only to adults? Not a chance. It's not smart business thinking. If the companies start losing the lawsuits against them, they'll have to start limiting where the game is marketed/sold. That means less and less stores will be selling the games with an "M" rating, which means less and less of a chance to purchase the games that we enjoy and want to play. Don't be surprised if people over 18 will start having to show I.D. to buy games with an M rating.
