Yesterday a friend asked me if I would like to go Bowling with him and some of his friends. Having not Bowled for years I wasn't that sure.
We played 3 games, my scores were pathetic, first game I had a 54, second game a 87, third game a 101, so at least I made some improvment. We had a pretty good time. I might even join a leauge for fun, but I don't know if I like Bowling that much.
Anyone do it?
I suck at bowling. I always come home w/ a sore thumb and a score less than 100 :(
Someday, I'd like to improve, though.
I used to date a chick on a bowling team. She'd kick my ass if I ever bowled against here(her average was like, 180 or something), so I guess I have some aprehension tword bowling. The only time I ever enter a bowling ally is when theres good arcade games there.Quote:

I wish ESPN would stop showing bowling. There's nothing worse than seeing some washed-up-has-been-drywaller-turned-'athlete' taunt his opponet (who looks like an assiant to a mechanic) in the only sport where it's customary to see even the 'pro' drink and smoke during a match. Bowling less a sport than dog racing or Tetris but still it gets aired on ESPN.

Not billiards... I could watch that Asian lady play all day long. I'm not even attracted to her, I just wish I could play like that.
As long as all they show is the Asian lady and the Latin guy who wins all the trick shot competitions, billiards is fine by me... Good thing that's pretty much all they show.
hhahaaahha nice topic! i just got dragged bowling last night, I did ok, i showed some improvement...but still not that good, round 100 give or take, i really don't like it that much...hahahah awww well.
Granted.. if you enjoy it I will leave it free from my wrath.
Some channel should show good clan matches in Quake III Arena... I'd watch.
...and back on topic... I hate bowling but not as much as watching it. The shoes are horrible and ugly and the game is easy IMO.

I have not been bowling in about 12-15 years.... but when I was little I did enjoy it.
I did play some Monkey Bowling in Super Monkey Ball Jr yesterday though. That was fun. ;)

Beer and bowling is a good time.
My ex-girlfriend and I used to always go bowling. She'd get in the high-100s, I'd get around 20-50, tops. Good times.
Them trick shots are amazing. I don't know how the hell they balance 3 balls on top of each other on top of a cup...then do a trick with it. Ever see the dog who does trick shots on ESPN?Quote:

Anyways, I always watch Billiards, it's funny how if you miss one shot, you lose the game. Clearing the table seems so easy in 9 ball..

I love bowling, I've been doing it for most of my life. My dad used to be semi-pro, so I had a good teacher. My high game so far is 211, my god, I'll never forget that day.
If I ever become rich, I'm definitely springing for one of the cool custom made clear balls with something weird in the center.

hahaah, you know I actually used to be somewhat strong and a bit built :) I swear it! I was actually jock-like in school for a while...being in track, baseball, gymnastics...etc...

I used to go bowling with my dad every week when he was part of a league and before his lower back crapped out on him. Man, I was damn good too, I was like 10 or 11 years old at the time and routinely bowled 150-180. I think the best game I've ever had was 228...I remember it well because the last two digits, 28, are my birth day.
Ah... Bowling... According to my father is was supposed to be my ill-fated birthright to succeed him in the mighty sport of bowling.
Here's the story. In the completely radical decade known as the 1980s my father became a somewhat well-known amatuer bowling champion in Southern Califonia. He's got thirty bowling trophies surrounding the fireplace and he would some to tournaments in San Diego and LA. It was a pretty cool time cause he would take me to the bowling alleys to practice about once a week. So I got to play in bowling alley aracdes for a good portion of my childhood.
When the 1990 came around, my dad decided to retire from amatuer bowling. Unfortunately right after he retired he decide to buy me a 12 pound bowling ball and some bowling shoes. This all happened around my eleventh birthday. Shortly after i found myself training to become a good bowler. I trained every week for about six months with and without my dad, but i never ever improved. I was averaging a pathetic score of 100. Fortunately my arcade gaming took an upturn and with the release of Street Fighter II. I became a somewhat known local fighting game player at the bowling alleys.
So another decade later. My dad hasn't gone bowling in about ten years. He took up gardening instead and he seems to like it a lot. Here I am with a 12 pound bowling ball and some really nice bowling shoes stuck in my closet. When I actually do pull out the bowling ball to play with some friends I tend to find it too light for me now and i still bowl around 100. The shoes still fit ok though...
