That entire site is great.
One of my fave webcomics and proof that strong writing alone can carry a strip.
Take some good notes. ;)Quote:

Do you really want to start this again?Quote:

I'm carrying on the good tradition you started. Consider yourself flattered that I actually clicked on the link once.Quote:

There mom? Looky there... a mom! Haha! Seriously, you should be saving this material.Quote:
there mom
Good lord let it drop man.
It's only a message board...just get over it.
So a bunch of people posted talking about how ignorant you were. And you talked shit to the admin getting you banned because you whined like a little girl about people calling you out on stupidity.
Heaven forbid the same thing will happen in this thread and you'll want it deleted also.
Just let it go Rob...
*calling people out on grammar errors is awesome btw!*
So...
That's a funny comic strip right there. Thanks for the linkage.
This is just friendly board banter. Two words: chill pill!!Quote:

I thinks you guys need to keep that shit in Fight CLub.
True that.Quote:

My above post was the last volley from the "Kidnemo thinks Rob stinks like poop" camp.
I think I'll continue posting as I have been. Thanks for the advice, anyways.
That was great.. it was funny as hell...
Rob is excellent.
Get Your Flame On!
Uh...anyway, that comic's awesome. I read about it in Rolling Stone... I think it's available in print form in some manner I-can't-get-my-hands-on.
The sad and scary part is that I swear a few of those lines are direct quotes from TNL...
I want more of this scattered around the boards. Even if it is sarcasm, no one will be able to tell.Quote:

Thumbs up.
A) Rob, shut up about Nemo, talk about the comic. Thread is about comic, comic is funny and provides ample discussion opportunities.
B) Damn entertaining read, that comic. I agreed with a good bunch of what he was saying, though not all of it.
C) Did you know that the comic strip Boondocks works really well for us white people growing up in whiteland around 99% white people if you read it as life in an alienated subculture? Don't know why, but Get Your War On made me think of Boondocks.

Of all posts telling me how to post, I like James' the best. That was awesome, and it didn't sound too asshole-ish.
Talk about the comic:
I could definitely use more than 4 default panels for text pasting. And the color red really gets on my nerves after a while.
Can't argue that, the red is a good gimmick for a few seconds and then my eyes begin to reject it. Maybe using it as spot-coloring instead of the whole thing would be better.
One of the big mysteries about web cartooning, for me, is the slavish devotion to 3-4 panels for a strip. They've got an entire computer monitor to play with and all you see is imitated newspaper strips. You're online, people, work with the medium you've got!

Rob: I missed the FC episode where this all started, but you need to stop it right now. You're a great poster, but you're acting like an asshole. This is out of character for you and it needs to stop.Quote:

FC stays in FC, you know that.

Well a big part of using 3 panels is because of the pacing. Bill Waterson (Calvin and Hobbs) was really intergral in hammering home this format.Quote:

Your first frame is setup, the second frame is generally a "little joke"/segue, and the third is the punchline.
But I totally agree about using other formats that you wouldn't normally be able to do in print. For my stuff I'm currenly working on some non-print focus work to really take advantage of the medium.
This is one of my favorite web comics: www.e-sheep.com He's done amazing things as far as bringing credibility to web comics and not just duplicating print based stuff.
1) Calvin and Hobbes is the greatest comic ever made.
2) This comic is pretty damn funny.
