Will there be a Draft?

Just pure speculation but assuming America goes to War do you think there will be draft?

It seems unlikely in this day and age, but if there is a long term war, like Vietnam it is possible.

How would you feel? I'm not sure about who would have to go and what would disqualify you from serving, but its something that I hope never happens.

I don't see people supporting this at this time.

I never even signed up for the draft like I was supposed to five years ago.

I'm not going anywhere.

Though it's not likely for Canada, I've been think about this every since I turned 18. If a major war breaks out, would I be ready to go? Could I fight?

On your 18th Birthday all males have to sign up right? I guess I was a little surprised when I got the form in the mail back on my 18th.

I never got anything in my mail.

I signed up, a couple of years ago, but there's no way in hell I'll ever get called up.

I signed up, but you can't be drafted if your still in school, right? So I don't have much to worry about.

If my country needed me, I would not hesitate to go to war.

I would not, however, go to risk my life if America was only fighting for someone's political agenda.

When you turn 18 you are legally required to sign up for the draft. They won't track you down if you don't, but if they do somehow find out that you did'nt they will make you. And don't think you can vote if you are not registered for the draft.

But it means little, there are lots more people signing up for the reserves now, so I don't think there is too much to worry about.

Plus with the people we are dealing with you should not have to worry, hell last time we faught Iraq they kinda gave up and kissed our soldiers feet. Guess thats what happans when your Leader gets 100% of the vote and tests weapons on his own people. Dictators sure are smart.

I sincerely doubt there will be a draft. Assuming there is one, hell if I'm going to go so everytime a bullet flies by my head we get another barrel of oil.
