Digi-Q's Vs Bit Char-G's

I just got a Digi-Q in the mail today. For those who don't know, a Digi-Q is an RC Choro-Q superdeformed mini car. It's only about 5 cm long and it is just about the coolest toy I've ever played with. I got the Honda NSX model with remote control for $75 shipping included....so I guess it better be the coolest toy I've ever played with for that kind of money! :)

Anyway, there's another line of mini RC's out there with the name Bit Char-G or something like that. Has anybody compared the two toy lines? Discuss. I'm off to buy a second Digi-Q.

My friend has a bit Char-G, (I think) and he said he only paid 10 or 20 bucks for it.

Pretty cool stuff. I'm definitely gonna get one.

I had not heard of these RC toys before. They sound pretty cool.

another neat thing about these little mini rc cars is that you attach the vehicles to the remote control to recharge it.

you can play with these things for hours. So fun.

are the jap. Bit Char-G cars able to be charged by the U.S. remotes?

They should be the same.

The American Bit Char-Gs are released by Hobbico and are caled "MicroSizers".

That review is totally true. The amount of time I've spent playing with the thing has just been insane.

The Mario Kart ones rock, I saw them at the Flea Market and just may have to get one:

I've read the Mario Kart ones aren't as fast or handle as well as the other ones due to the weight of the bodies.

Still, they look awfully cool.

Any Digi-Q fans? You all seem to be on the Bit Char-G side of the fence. :) Digi Q's seem a little faster to me, and you gotta love the SD look.

I'll probably end up picking a couple up eventually.

Right now I'm still happy with my bit.

I've been pulling off some crazy power slides all day. In a way it's very thereputic. :) This thing is pretty dang fast, and the turning radius is insanely tight. The cool part is the little details. The LED's in the headlights are extreemly bright and the tail lights only come on when you stop or slow down, just like real break lights. The acceleration and steering are both analog. That's a good thing since the car is almost impossible to controll at full throttle, and yet full throttle is where the fun is when you have a large open area. Anyway, looking at the only english on the box it appears my car is the slowest of the 4 speed grades and is "Real Gimmik Type". Good to know. :) After I get used to this one, I have to try one of the faster guys. I don't even want to think how fast they go seeing what mine does already.

Man I love those things but I would never buy one. Me and my friend were playing with those the entire day (liturally) but they broke sooooo damn much. Now I'm not sure if it's because he has cheap ones (they were only $20) but if thats why I DEFINATELY want a good one.


Which type is best, and how much do both cost?

Check out my review posted above, it has links to a couple of forums that talk at length, and compare the different kinds.

And from everything I've read, the clones are horrible quality. I've beat the crap out of my Microsizer and have had zero problems.

Yeah, I've run my Digi-Q into about 40,000 walls today and not a single problem.

The range can vary pretty widely in my experience (and from what I've read).

If you even have the most rudimentary of solder skills, or know somebody who can do it for you, you can install a longer antenna on your bit.

Also there is a limiting capacitor that you can remove from the controller.

Both of these mods can add HUGE amount of range onto your bit. We're talking like 25 feet and further. And when you play with one of these things the first time and see the size of them, 25 feet is a loooong way.

Take a look at the forum link from my review. You can find tons of detailed instructions on how to get further range (and alot of other stuff) out of your mini.

I'm going to be modding my bit with a longer antenna today actually.

Theres an Auto Modelista se aswell. Altohugh they don't look too different for the regular.

The Auto Modelista set (as well as the Fairlady Z) both have a "2 speed boost function", that normal bits don't have.

What it basically amounts to is a little button on the controller you can press for an extra boost of speed.

Digi-Q's have controller upgrades you can buy for increased range. It is not a mod like the Bits, but rather an official plug on dookicky. Even with the standard controller, I think the range is farther than the Bits since Digi-Q's use IR and Bit Char-Gs use radio. You can also buy special controllers that accept "codes". One code might make your car only powerslide around corners and another code might make your car wiggle instead of drive perfectly straight. There are hundreds of codes, actually.

DAMN YOU ALL! Now instead of wanting one i NEED one with all these mods and codes and stuff!

BTW I wasnt talking about driving it into walls, I was talking about making it jump off a truck onto concrete or sumthin

Oh wow. There's like, good versions of these things. I got a mini rc car for Christmas but it's a POS. Thanks for the heads up, I may have to look for one of those. I want to torment my dog :)
