Did you try cleaning the lends with a Q-tip before the bling bling rap instructions to install a new drive? Mine stopped reading a large portion of my games (but not all) and a quick cleaning of the lens fixed it right up. Worth a try. (edit-nevermind)
I could buy a new one, but then my MacGuyver skills would be wasted.

I fried a PS2 controller by simply holding it thanks to insane amounts of static electricity in the air coupled with a non-grounded plug. Never been shocked three times in a row before, and certainly never that quickly. Actually, I think one of the shoulder buttons still works... well, it seems the cleaning of the lens did not help. So, I just needa know where to find a replacement cdrom for the DC. Or whether I should just get a new DC :|
