And original Splatter House was something other than 2D horor beat-them-up. So the only difference is use of 3d.
But hey, 3d is bad !!!

It'll be interesting to see what Namco does with this.
2D play and 3D graphics (Klonoa style engine) or even something like the Gekido engine for a followup to Splatterhouse 3 would be good (keep Rick and all enemies facing only left or right so it doesn't get too complicated). Let's not have one of the new features be a jackass camera.
Some new creative deaths for both Rick and the enemies would be good. Like Dolemite said, PS2 please.
I have been waiting for this for a long time. I hope it turns out to be true (and not shitty), I recall an early issue of ODCM getting my hope up for a Naomi Splatterhouse game.
I've been wishing for a sequel to this game for ages. (I actually posted this on this forum ages ago. I bet there are people watching tnl and gathering info from polls) I have fond memories of it from the arcades. Glad to see namco bring back one of the goriest 2d sidescrollers into present day. It would be cool if this was a GBA game. We all know 3d sucks man! Sprites are teh best111!
But seriously, yeah I would love to see a 2d sidescrolling gba game.
Nah, Splatterhouse deserves to be played on a full-size monitor. And I don't think hand-rendered 2D is going to make the game as gory as I'd like a potential Splatterhouse sequel to be. Namco should takes notes from KCET games like Contra SS and Silent Hill on how to make a game look gruesome in 3D.Quote:

Bleh. Splatterhouse could stay dead for all I care. There's at least a dozen old franchises I'd rather see Namco take another stab at, not the least of which would be stuff like Rolling Thunder, Legend of Valkyrie, or Dragon Spirit.
How about if we trade Tekken for Splatterhouse? I'd take that trade in a heartbeat.
Rolling Thunder demands a sequel. Not a remake with cinemas and 'next-generation' gameplay, btw, but an as-is sequel with the gameplay intact. A GBA sequel would suit me fine.Quote:

Spatterhouse needs a remake. The franchise has a lot of potential but the gameplay needs work.
I was thinking the other day that a Rolling Thunder sequel in 3D could work if Namco gave it the right attention. Namco already seems to have lifted a few of their evasive action ideas from Rolling Thunder for use in Time Crisis. By expanding some of the mechanics of that game, and applying it to a free-roaming 3D environment, there might be something Namco could do with the Rolling Thunder series on consoles yet.Quote:

I expect a 3D Rolling Thunder would amount to a mission-based action title like Syphon Filter or something. That would just disappoint me so. I liked the way the game's play mechanics were progressing in RT2+3 and I'd like to see more of that in a 2D update.
