Thousand Arms

Hey, all.

I was considering purchasing Thousand Arms for my domestic (US) PSX for around $30. Good game? Good deal? Inform me.

I do like the idea of a quirky, dating sim/musical/RPG (which is what I gather from the limited info on the back of the box). And how can you go wrong with special attacks like "Rock Geyser?!"

The graphics look wonderful...but those screens on the back of the box are awefully small (I.E. decieving).

So? What up?

You like the quirky japanese dating sim stuff?

You like sprites?

You like rpg's?

The battle system is innovative, but not the best and I found it got kinda old after a little while.

Overall though for 30 bones you can hardly not buy it.

Not to mention it will probably be one of those games that you can sell on ebay for twice that in three years.

Ugh. Random dungeon/tamagotchi games make me want to kill things. Usually everyone involved in making and selling me said games. If Azure Dreams was 3D everyone would piss all over it like they do Time Stalkers.

I hail Azure Dreams as the single best game Konami put out for the PSX. Thanks for the recomend, but I already own it, and already LOVE it. :D

I played through a few hours of Thousand arms, loved it, and then put it on the shelf never to be played again.

Take that how you will.

Its a fun, and enjoyable waste of time.

So, you're all saying Thousand Arms is worth the purchase?

I just did a bit of researching and found out most people say it's damned funny too. BONUS!

My copy of Suikoden II is this close to jumping you and beating some sense into your fool ass. But I think it's waiting for Silent Hill, Metal Gear Solid and Vandal Hearts to come along so they can quadruple tag-team your pixelly tamagotchi pg date sim lose-all-your-experience-every-time-you-leave-the-only-shitty-dungeon-in-the-whole-game loving self. Ugh. Again.

I hated what little I could stand of Thousand Arms. The battle system was awful, the main character was a prick, the dating elements were shallow, and the dungeons sucked. There are much better ways to spend $30.


By the way, Azure Dreams is 3D :P (and is much better than Thousand Arms)
