Feature: 2002: The Year in Review
The past year certainly hasn't been boring. Having three corporate giants jockey for market dominance can have its rewards, and 2002 saw a flood of quality games come to the market for all three consoles and the Game Boy Advance.
The second installment of our year-end special (our annual awards feature can be found here) starts with a look at the top stories of the year. From the opening champagne pop to the closing kiss (okay, from the first game of Frequency to the last game of Phantasy Star Collection), 2002 saw some fun times, as well as shifting allegiances, hot new developers, and the return of every 8-bit franchise you've been pining for.
In a very unusual twist, we are including two other features to complement our list of highlights. Masters and omfgninjas are always joined at the lip on our message boards, so we thought we'd give them a chance to team up and deliver their own 2002 awards. In addition, Riisuke showed up at my window sill one night, sword in hand, demanding we let him speak his mind about the state of anime, so his 2002 thoughts are here, too.
The rest of this thread is here for you to speak your mind and tell us what you like and don't like about our coverage, and what you liked and didn't like about the past year in gaming.
