I found it mazingly funny that whenever the last boss in FF 9 decimated my party down to one man with next to no life, it seemed like the idiot would wait for me to bring everyone back to life before doing any attacks that caused damage.

I would consider FF7's Sephiroth to be the easiest boss. I beat his final stage with one limit break with the cloud (one on one).
Still FFIX spoilers

I didn't find the last boss particularly hard, aside from the fact that you fight him right after Kuja. But I totally agree with you about its inclusion. It was one of the dumbest things I've ever seen a company do... why ruin something that had been more or less perfect with such an idiotic move? It was as if they were trying to sabotage the game with it.
i believe once you get to him one on one it's impossible to get beaten by him....Quote:

*embarassed* I never beat the last boss to Mario Sunshine.........It wasn't because of toughness really, its just because I got a new game and started playing that instead XD
Hahahaha that's because it's staged! Go you!Quote:

You're actually right though. Sephiroth, the real fight, is quite the pushover, especially if you have Knights of the Round. :D
Level doesn't matter since you can only get so far with Gears. There's no real way to make the battle significantly easier aside from having certain deathblows. I don't remember exactly how I beat him, I just remember always using Hyper Mode deathblows and I went into the battle with Fei, Maria...and I can't remember the last one but it might've been Citan. I used Maria for the high hit points and Fei for damage. Make sure to have the Speed Shoes on Fei (and anyone else if you've got them, obviously), and there were a few other items that really helped, but it's been too long.Quote:

I just didn't feel like dicking with the orbs at the time. My roomie did the same thing and managed to beat him, so I know it wasn't a fluke. Getting Speed Shoes for all three members helps a lot, which I did my second time.
My problem is that Cross Break would kill all my members except Eiko, who could easily bring back the entire group and heal them if she wouldn't get confused and berserked from the attack. ARGH!Quote:

The other battle was pretty easy, though. I found the last boss of FF2 to be bastardly hard. What's the sword before the Ragnarok (crystal) sword in FF2? I think I used Edge to throw that at the thing.
That moon story was cool........... yeah....
Star Ocean 2 (psx) had the toughest boss ever. I had to fight him 4 times before I figured out that I needed to counterfeit an item to make my characters faster, before I even stood a chance. That was without the limiters removed. I can't even imagine how hard the final boss would've been with the limiters removed.
Thanks to those who gave advice for Vagrant Story and FF3, but like I said, I sold those games. I'm not touching VS again. FF3, I never made it far in the last dungeon (hey, I had no instruction manual, it was a few day rental, and was the first true rpg I'd ever played, can't beleive I made it so far in the first place), so I never even faced Kefka. I will one day, though.
