And here I kept hearing about how Sega was just about done with Xbox. I mean, it still may be, Spikeout is ancient. But it's pretty cool nonetheless.

I love SpikeOut in its' various incarnations and can't wait for the Xbox version. Can't think what this new Xbox Live game will be if it's a port... *thumbs through Sega Arcade History book*

Spikeout's cool and all but currently playing Orta makes me wonder what Smilebit's next project will be.

Only playable through Xbox Live? That sucks. Here's to hoping that ends up NOT being true, and that there will be offline stuff.

I... I dunno about Sega sometimes.

"Hmm, well the Xbox already has a pitiful market share in Japan, so lets cut our potential audience down even more by making it Xbox Live-only!"

At least it is just a port. I mean I'm all for Sega supporting every console, but I'm also for Sega making enough money to still be a company in a few years.

Online play can be a selling point. I know I find myself both buying and considering games with online play that I'd likely never purchase otherwise. You seem to imply that it will be a JP title only as well, which is a bit hard to swallow.

Well that's the thing - I don't know about a worldwide release.

Considering Sega have published double the number of Xbox games in the US compared to Japan thus far, you're worrying about nothing.

It's just the opposite for me. There are titles that I may be interested in normally, but if I hear that the game is somehow incomplete without taking it online, I put my money back in my wallet.
