card games based on video games

how many card games are out there that are based on video games? i know there must be a ton of them in japan.

i'd love to see the dragon quest card games released here in the states. i'm such a huge dragon quest fan i wouldn't even care if it became extremely popular or not. then there's the rock man exe card game. at least...i think there's a card game based off of rmexe. in one of the import exe action figure pacs the figure came with a card. i heard somewhere they were limited edition somthin' or others. anyone has any information on it?

a persona card game would be cool as well.

what about you guys? what video games do you think would make great card games?

i'm surprised capcom or snk didn't try an cash in on the CFC craze by making an actual card game. that would be awesome though.

I think in Japan they did make an actual card CFC game. I'm pretty sure I saw an ad for it on some site once.

- Two players -

One person is a hunter. Their deck would be composed of characters, abilities, mags, treasure.

The other player would be the enemies. Their deck would be monsters, abilities for the monsters, traps, and over not so niceness.

Setup some type of objective system where defeating the hunter, or getting a certain number of treasure cards into play would win. Alternantly the hunter player could try to "run out" the deck of the enemy player to in effect "clear out" the dungeon.

Or something like that. :lol:

I've never heard of anything like that in all my neo*geo or CFC travels. If you could post some more info or links I'd be much'o grande happy.

OT-i actualy ran into that drag-on dragoon footage lookin' on enix japanese site for some dragon quest card game info.

Wow, that CFC "real card game" looks pretty sweet....... I'd love to play... but I don't think I know anyone who'd want to play real life CFC with me.

I really wish that someone would make a fan-made online version of CFC, or at least a game based on CFC's gameplay... I don't think that it would be that hard to make a simple online version of the game, especially if it was online-only and required no AI programming...

that's another thing that surprises me sometimes: the lack of any kind of online card games for pc or any other systems. you'd think companies would be interested in making money off of that kind of thing.

i'm pretty sure there's an actual triple triad game. and IIRC, i've seen an SNK card collecting game a while back.
