I have Road Runner and it's specifically for my city, which is about 20 x 4 miles. So it's a pretty short distance, which leads to a kickass ping. I get online in games with a ping around 30. I've been known to hit 1 a few times, though. :D
my broadband bill just went up to $60 a month :(
damn you AT&T!
Wahaha. That's some expensive broadband right there!
I am a recent convert to DSL. I shall never go back to narrowband, it just won't work.

Most colleges are on T3s or OC3s. The University of Texas at Austin runs a 90-Mbps connection.
My apt has a t3 thingy. Too bad it fucks up like 5 times every 2-3 weeks. Heh....
And I can never direct connect to you Lhadatt :(
I officially will join my BB brothers soon! :)
Congratulations, bahn! About time!
Well, at where I am, we have two real choices for broadband: Roadrunner and SBC DSL. I actually started out on Roadrunner, and did well for a couple of years... but then found out the hard way that if you have a problem, God help you. For example, we had a persistent problem with the line going into our house ... and their fixes would only last a few months before we ended up having to call them. One time their tech SAID he came out, but someone was home when he said he was there and no one had come by. Furthermore, there was no evidence he had done the work he said he did. The straw that broke the camel's back was when we had another line problem, and it took them over TWO WEEKS to come out. We then switched to DirecTV DSL, who were the only DSL provider willing to service us at the time. ;) The service with them was great... until they shut down. I've since switched to SBC DSL, and scary as it seems, I'm a LOT happier with them than I was with Roadrunner.Quote:

I guess it kinda tells you something when I had my father turn the cable modem back in to the service center and the people there accepted it without any surprise or asking why. ;)
Just my $.02...
I've had cable for several years.
