All the Gamestop stores right now are running this trade in 2 PS2, GC or Xbox games and get 40 dollars in credit towards either RE2 or RE3 (making them free) or 40 bucks towards Getaway also making it free or reserving Devil May Cry 2 (making it 10 bucks) and a couple other big name titles

now you may say but i dont have 2 GC or PS2 or Xbox games i want to trade in


well heres what you do see its for ANY game except sports games and wrestling games

so go to any game store buy 2 ghetto priced games (many PS2 games are 7.99) and trade them in for RE2 or 3 or one of the other deals

Not the same thing, but for awhile Gamestop was giving $17 in store credit for DC Tennis 2K3 and Target was selling it for $6.99 :)

I cleaned Target out and stocked Gamestop up with Tennis 2K3 :) I came away with several free games because of it.

I tried your idea once john, when they were doing it for VF4. I ended up with copies of Le Mans 24 Hours and Unreal Tournament on PS2 because they were on EB's exempt list. :p

Does Gamestop have a list of games they won't take in trade in?

it is only good on trades toward 5 or so select titles (not yet released), and there are limitations...no 2002 sports games or older, and no old wrestling games...

-Controls:
They ripped the REmake controls onto the GameCube version (with the
exception of the auto-turn, which is still absent). This means that Type
C controls are present for those whiners.

-Sound:
The GameCube version sounds a lot weirder, to be honest. The voices
seemed a little muffled, but surprisingly clear.

-Availability:
Get these if you get the chance, because Capcom shipped a limited
amount. My local Target sold out of RE2, and sold RE3 for $49.99 (which
is why I didn't buy it yet).

-FMV Intro:
Leon's intro FMV plays first, then if you wait a few seconds, Claire's
will then play. Sometimes, it's the complete reverse.

I still think the N64 version a.k.a "miracle-cart" of RE2 is the best with the EX files and high res graphics and great alternate control.

But anyways I agree stick with that. The only cool thing would be the fact that you have the entire RE saga minus Code Veronica in one shelf. RE0, RE, RE2, RE3 and soon RE4........and you can play them all in a nonstop marathon to try to piece together the story coherently! YAY!

I think it is safe to say that anything except the aforementioned 2002 and before Sports games, and wrestling games, will work with this deal.

if the deal is stated that you get the increase IF you are trading toward one of the LISTED games, which it is, then no...if you tried to return the game from the list, for credit, they probably would only have to give you the listed trade-in value without the increase...the reason why they do it for certain "hot" titles is because those titles have a lower buy-in cost for the company...

Me and Korly went to several EB's and DESTROYED their stock of Preowned World Destruction League: Thundertanks, and Fantavisions, priced at $4.99. I think between the two of us there were 4 of each. :) Add in a few Eternal rings, a Eve of Extinction, and Warriors of Might and Magic and we were set :)

And another thing. I bought a 2nd copy of the Sims at one babbages, turned right around and traded it in for Fatal Frame on XBOX at another.

Yeah, using this trick I got a copy of The Sims, and preordered a copy of DOA:XBV and 3 copies of The Getaway.

I'll just return the extra copies of The Getaway to other Gamestops to get stuff I actually want.

I honestly have nothing but contempt for those of you buying the GC versions of RE2 and RE3. These are worse than the Dreamcast versions and you are sending the message to Capcom that you are willing to buy rehashes. I see Capcom's decision to not make the effort in properly remaking the other games in the series was wise: still plenty of suckers that will pay close to full whack for a fucking PSone port. :rolleyes:

Plus, the US re-release of RE2 has been confirmed to be edited like the US PSX/DC/PC releases were. You might as well write Capcom a check because you're not getting anything for your money.

I heard the deal has been altered so the trade-in games have to be ones they can sell for $20 or more. The deal overall is supposed to run to Feb 9th.

Now absent from my collection are Armored Core 2 and Silpheed: TLP, 2 games I spent all of $12 on and I now have DoA:XBV :) I walked in, slapped the games down and the workers looked at me like "ok, what the fuck is this?" I had to inform them about the deal, but not before they felt satisfied after calling the other 3 gamestop locations within the next 2 towns :( Anyway, as they were calling around, I had some guy ask me why I wanted "Dead or Alive Beach Party" to which I merely answered "I want a volleyball game and don't have a cube" yadda yadda, the guy at the counter said "Hey thanks, I know how I'm getting DoA for $10 tomorrow :D"

well according to the Email today they cancelled the promotion as they realised every customer and employee was buying cheapo games and trading them in for good games and they realised how much money they were losing so they called it off

Yeah, I just received a call from a good friend claiming they had cancelled the deal at noon today. He was fairly dissapointed that he missed it. All preorders placed before then with the trade-in deal are still being honored though.
