Yes, I do believe GC characters are stored on the memory card, as are the DC's. However, DC and GC memory cards are a bit harder to hack than the Xbox's hard drive.

I honestly don't know why Sonic Team is sticking with client-side characters. Making them server-side doesn't introduce that much more expense -- they're already charging for the game, so that should probably cover any additional maintenance they would need to perform.

Being Sonic Teams fourth version of the game, you'd think they'd have fixed crap like that already.

Cheaters usually have level 100 characters, get bored with the title and move on anyway (since they've essentially beaten it) so there's no point.

My friend used to make a character named Gai-Boi with his DC Gameshark and run around and stuff. He never seemed to kill anybody, but I do remember some chump stealing my special rifle (one of the alien hands, can't remember the name) due to some hack in safeguard against TKing.

PSO isn't my bag anyway. The battle system, although leaps and bounds above any MMORPG, still lacks a large amount of skill or enthrallment to be of any interest to me.
