Honestly, I got Thunderforce Goldpack 2 last week, played it everyday, and have no complaints about it whatsoever. Brought back the joy of gaming. They just don't make 'em like that anymore :(

I don't buy this "I have a girlfirend/job/college courses/ and can't play games anymore" crap. Why does it have to be one or the other? I've done 2 college degrees, got married, am buying a house, and will soon be a dad; all without having to give up gaming.
If you love it, stick with it. It doesn't matter if it's gaming or anything else.
Of course if you just lose interest, then that's that.
That is exactly what happened the Christmas night I got the SNES. Those truely were the golden days of gaming. IMO, I don't think many of todays games have anything to offer. I was never to big of gamer, but now I try to find those games I never picked up for the SNES and NES. Sure I'll pick up the occasional new game here and there, but its those that I was playing back in the day that truely sticl out.Quote:

I don't play nearly as much as I did in highschool, but I find my tastes have become a little pickier. In the old days I'd play anything you'd put in front of me, now a game has to be pretty special for it to keep my attention.

In college I lost just about all interest in gaming. For four years I played only Civilization, some Infocom games, and a bunch of Mac shareware. But my senior year, after I finished my thesis, I picked up a used PSone and a copy of Metal Gear Solid and that, as they say, was that.
People go through phases. Nothing unusual about it.
Look at where this is going:

Pretty graphics and deep stories alone don't make the world go round, folks. Gaming shouldn't be a solitary adventure.

But I think alot of you guys missed that this is just talking about a trend in Japan. In North America, things seem to be going the other way. The Xbox is doing a good job of making games acceptable to people in their 20s and early 30s, and I don't see the industry going through any sort of significant contraction.
Hopefully, companies will realize that a market collapse really is only two John Maddens away at all times, and they'll do everything they can to keep the flagship properties interesting enough to keep people coming back. Activision's taking a year off with Tony Hawk (go ahead guys, take two), and the next GTA isn't going to be around for a year or two. Good.

Lately I have lost interest in gaming, not only for school/job/girlfriend/etc... but because not many games nowadays keep my interest. Besides gems like Contra: Shattered Soldier ps2, Klonoa 2 ps2, Sly Cooper and such, gaming for me has been at a low point these days. :(
