Slap Happy Rhythm Busters

For the longest time this game has been a thorn in my gaming mind and after some searching Kaneda found a site that had not only a review but shots and videos as well...WHY IN THE HELL HASN'T THIS GAME BEEN TALKED ABOUT BEFORE?! it looks absolutly amazing and it had jumped up to the top of my "buy list" but my only real worry is the price...is this one of those "nobody knows anything about it so it's gona be $300" games? Any info on the price or other wise would be greatly appreciated...thanks in advance

Slap Happy is actually the first game that I saw released (before JSR even) with the cel shading technique. It's an SNK influenced fighting game that mixes in aspects from the rhythm genre like when you execute a certain type of super move, bars will move to the middle of the screen and you have to press the buttons correctly to get damage. The opponent can also do something to minimize damage in this situation. It's been awhile since I've played it so I don't remember the exact details but it's pretty decent except for the ridiculous damage. I believe it was also re-released as a budget title within the last year or so in Japan.

Looks neat.
