I was going to put this in the thread:

"Dumb comments you've heard lately"

This is more about what someone DIDN'T say, not what they HAVE said.


MSNBC,(we all know what the "MS" stands for), right when X-Box and GameCube are coming out. MSNBC gets an EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH Bill Gates... How the hell did they pull that off!?!? :rolleyes:

Anchor Women: Now all three systems cost the same amount of money, can you tell us what X-Box has to offer that Sony and Nintendo don't?

Bill Gates: Well, I think the public is looking for something different this time around, BS is a great BS, in the BS day and age. HorseShit dog poo dog poo, is pretty BS horseshit, Nike.

I'm paraphrasing, but the point is, he let the anchorwoman and the viewing public thing that all three systems were the same amount of cash. I hate him... I hate him, and I hate what MS stands for. They own so much, so they are always able to plug their products. I have MSN on my computer. When I first log on, it takes me and hundreds of other people to MSN.com. There I see "Best gift ideas" where there's a picture of an X-Box. :rolleyes:

NO DOUBT IN MY MIND that Bill Gates has the smallest penis visible to the naked eye. He has such an inferiority complex, trying to dominate everything, and going to these lengths to do so.

I don't care if I get blasted off these boards for this, But I hope Bill Gates gets sodomized by both an elephant and a horse taking turns.

Oh, and BTW, NO news program got all the facts straight about ANY system at the time X-Box and GC came out. (that I saw)

I don't know where in the world I'm going to go to for news now.

a little off topic.. I'm not hear to deffend AOl or anything.. But you no that finical show on they have.. it seems all they talk about is how bad AOl.. and AOL sucks and shit..

The point about Mr. Gates's underachieving genitals was particularly eloquent and pithy.

A) I don't like Microsoft at all, but they're no worse than Sony or Nintendo.

B) "Company bias" and "console wars" suck. :(

C) Get over it and just enjoy what you like. :)



PS) If you were going to any flavour of NBC for your "unbiased news" in the first place you're a bit mental. :p

Welcome to business. Don't think for a second Bill Gates didn't and doesn't work his ass off for where he is today. Yes, the whole buying the system for 10,000 dollars. But no business, let alone the most successful, doesn't take alot of work to run.

I don't see the real problem, because if Sony and Nintendo could do the same things with the PC market they would've.

Sure there were a few points to be made here. By the time I went off the deep end, I would have figured you would have all taken it for what it was.

I was just trying to be an ass. If anyone reads this and thinks I should lighten up, then it's possible they should. Because it doesn't bother me as much as it sounds. I was just being a character. You've never heard anyone on TV say things that they don't actually mean to be funny or just act stupid. In the South Park movie they shot Bill Gates in the head. Do you guys really think that the creators hated him THAT much. Or did that offend you as well?

I really like the X-Box, as a system that is.

I tried to click on Fight Club, it won’t let me it.

Now, I'm not THAT much of a 'regular' at these boards... so if there's an obvious way to get in, I just don't know about it.

I don't think MS really "owns" all that much, certainly not nearly as much as Sony or AOL. I've actually noticed on several occasions MSNBC bashing the Xbox and/or promoting the PS2. And what do you think happens on a Sony laptop when you open the browser? It takes you to SonyStyle.com of course, and they certainly have WAY more stuff to sell to you than MS ( DVD's, CD's, electronics, computers, etc. ) and you can put it on your Sony card! My point is MS is very often unfairly singled out for doing things that competitors do / have done that remain largely un-noticed. I.E. - It's fashionable to "hate" Microsoft, but perfectly OK to like a Japanese corporation that is worse than them, imo.

MS doesn't do anything that other large corporations haven't done. The others just continue to get away with it unscathed.

Oh and it's not just MSNBC talking about AOL and how bad they are doing, alot of media outlets are, because they ARE doing bad.

The complacent consumer is responsible for MS's position just as much as anything else. There are alternatives, there are competitors. You don't have to use MS products. Hard to believe, but it's really true.

Fox News is the Worst. The only passable programming on it is O'Riley (you heard me) simply because he's not full of complete shit all the time. Sometimes he's ok.

Besides, MSNBC has Steven Kent, who is great and everytime they say anything about Microsoft the always say (MSNBC is a joint-venture with Mircosoft and NBC).

Yeah, as far as I know, that one is locked up in the Disney vaults never to be released again due to the slavery and tar baby references. Not something they a very proud of. I had a friend who had a copy of a copy from a VHS tape the bought in Japan, but thats about the closest I've come to seeing it, besides the one time I watched it in the theaters in the 70's.

Yeah, I saw it once in the theater. I think it was a special showing. I don't know the details, but I did go to see it when I was very young. I was too young to catch any of those controversial references. I don't know if I would like the movie now, or find it inoffensive, but back when I was little it just seemed very different. It wasn't like anything I've seen before.

I had a record of the music I would play all the time.

I'm not really a fan of Disney, never was. This movie just sticks out in my head for some reason.

Superstition, was the controversy justified in your opinion? Should it have been ban?

BTW, when I DID see it, it was with a black family who lived a few blocks from my house. My brothers and I were friend with their 2 kids, but I was the only one in my family who went, (I forgot why). They seemed VERY enthusiastic about seeing the film. I remember it was a very big deal in my area, not because of the controversy but because, (I believe), they knew it was (probably?) the last time their children were going to get a chance to see it. I don't know if the film I saw was edited at all.

It was a great movie, I distinctly remember seeing it in the theater. It might be the first movie I ever saw in the theaters, actually. X_O

I was about 5 years old when I saw it, so I have no real facts for why it was banned, I just remember hearing later that the NAACP was upset and called for a ban on the movie because of the use of slavery and racial stereotypes in the movie. As a kid, I loved the animated Br'er rabbit stories in the movie and of course the song Zip-I-dee-doo-da, but if I watched it again now as an adult, I don't know if I'd feel the same.

I just liked the Brer Rabbit segments in the movie... they were in Song of the South right? Zip-a-dee-doo-dah...
