Do you actually plan to play the Zelda bonus disk?

This was originally going to be a poll, then I realized I didn't feel like creating one. Three cheers for laziness!

Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing Ocarina of Time on Gamecube but I seriously doubt I'll ever actually play either version all the way through. I'm glad to have it and all that but I don't think I actually have either the time or desire to go through it again. The lack of N64 Smear-O-Vision will be nice, but not nice enough to counter the memory of being bored with Zelda:OoT back in the day. I'll probably poke around a dungeon or two and then move on.

Not that I plan on selling it on Ebay or anything. It's mine! :)

I'll play through Master Quest. I want to see what's changed.

Yeah, actually I do. Well at least the remixed version of the game. I might play the original that comes on the disc if I'm really going nuts for some to do that's Zelda related.

I'll definitely do what I can to play through the remix. I'll be giving OoT another go-round as well.

I get it with my preordered Wind Waker, so I'm not buying any 'extra' disc.

I'm actually more excited for the bonus disk than the actual game, because I've never played OoT before, and since I'm too lazy and cheap to play the original, I'm looking foward to this a lot.

I have never played through either N64 Zeldas

I was always looking for the LE carts and still haven't found them for a price i am confortable with.

So yes, I will be playing the disc.

I couldnt play OOT because of the "smear o vision" your speaking of so the smear free version will be nice...

Hero, you lost me on that one. Other than the Ocarina of Time disk there's nothing else to get, and you say you're getting it with Wind Waker, just like the rest of us. Clarify?

I'll play through OOT again, it is my favorite game afterall. Playing with a wavebird and better graphics is reason enough.

I will be playing through both all the way through. Probably multiple times over the course of this year. I used to have it almost down to a science, but it's been long enough that I'll have to "rediscover" some dungeons. That'll be nice to have again.

I'll definitely be playing this. Maybe even before Wind Waker. Playing through the first one right before the new one would be a really good way to compare them.

I just hope this isn't to OoT as Sunshine was to Mario 64. I know Majora's Mask already did that, but I'm just hoping it doesn't happen again...

Is there any timeline that the developers intended for this series to follow, or is it just all up to speculation?

I've never played OoT, and I don't own a N64 (nor ever plan to), so erm... yes. I'm very much looking forward to it. It should get here in about 3 weeks.

Oops, I thought this had to do with Amazon's 'deal' people were talking about. As far as OoT goes as a bonus, of course I'll play it. I've lost my N64 cart months ago, so it would be nice to play again ^^U

Oddly enough, I am. I didn't really care that much for the game, but I've been wanting to give it another go, and it'll help get me psyched for Wind Waker.

And it's fun to make custom box art.

Yup, my N64's been gone for a year and I haven't gotten around to getting a new one, so I'll definitely play through both. I'll still have to get an N64 to play Majora's Mask though.

Well, I haven't played OoT in a year or so so I kinda have a hanverking to play it again. It will be fun! I will be getting mine in Feb b4 Wind Waker comes out so I will have plenty of time to beat it then go "100 years" later into Wind Waker.

The g/f and myself both loved OoT so my guess is between the two of us, somebody will end up finishing it.

Hmm, I honestly dont know. Since I most probably will be renting New Link(DJ will play, and I will try to watch it), I wont get the disk, so I wont be playing it.

But if miracle happens, and I go crazy and decide to buy/preorder Wind Wanker, than I will be playing it.

Well, I can talk more so I will:

Zelda: Ocarina of Time is probably the most well crafted 3D title of all time. I have yet to see a game that surpasses its craftsmanship and excellence, even with the technological enhancements. Actually, Halo did a fine job but I still give ol' Link the edge with the story and free roaming atmosphere.

This is why I'll play it again! I'll probably play Master Quest, like others above, to see what exactly has changed.

Definately. Its been forever since I've played the game, and as many other people have said, I'm looking forward to this more than WW.

I loved OOT, and as the dungeons (excluding the first three) were my favorite part of the game, I can't wait to see what the new ones are like in URA. Oh, and all that high-res 30fps goodness will be nice too.

Yeah, I'll play it, since I've only played OOT through 1.3 times. I've always wanted to play it more, but never really got around to it.

I can't wait to play any of them. It sounds like many of you are expecting URA to be different in many ways yet from what I've read it sounds like it's just a few items. Care to share some new light on the subject anyone?

Now that you mention it, it was painful enough to get to where I am in Zelda 64 (reached first adult Link area after owning it for 3+ years). So, I don't think I'll be starting anew on GCN, higher res or not.

At my current rate and assuming I skip Majora and URA I'll finish the game in 2027, leaving ample time for nipping and gnawing at Wind Waker well into my retirement.

I'll be playing URA mostly, but will play OOT in spirts to refresh my memory of all the happenings in the game.

This bonus disc is an excellent gift from Nintendo. Any word on how it will ship? Will we see it in a slip case, or DVD case, maybe?

I've seen a red DVD casing used in ads for it. I assume that'd be what it's shipped in.

There are people who haven't played Ocarina yet? I don't whether to feel sorry for you guys or be jealous that you still get to experience its brilliance for the first time. Ocarina is a strong contender for the best game ever made(I rank it at #2, after Deus Ex) so I will definitely be playing through it again.

I hope those who haven't played Ocarina yet love it to death when they play it on the bonus disk. I'm looking to finally find the initiative to get through the entire game this time.

So how did you manage not to get a headache from the grainy smear o' vision?

I have owned the game since it came out but i hate headaches...

Several others complained about the same thing in this thread me thinks.

If the re release with Wind Waker is without this problem ill be all over it...

Even the blurry graphics and shitty frame rate aren't enough to stop Ocarina from being a masterpiece. Those problems didn't really hinder my enjoyment of the game.

For this I am happy for you, however it drove me insane to the point where i couldnt play it.

Allot of N64 games aggrivated me in the same way...

OOT just seemed to be worse because of what they were trying to pull off graphically...

I never noticed the blurriness of N64 graphics. I guess I need to be some kind of graphic whore to make sure to find fault in everything.

It irritated me thats all I can say, some people have problems with people not seeing things the way they themselves do....

I have my oppinion and you yours, im actually glad to hear you guys enjoyed it as im a big fan of the Zelda games and have preordered Wind Waker.

For example I found REZ to be a pretty marginal and bland game yet many people here compare it to some supernatural experience. :rolleyes:

I plan on playing URA Zelda a bit, but not the original. For one, I already beat the game on the N64, and secondly I plan on playing Wind Waker damnit!

First, Rez was a supernatural experience. So there! :)

Second, I remember finding Ocarina of Time kind of dull overall. I admired what it tried to do but found a lot of waste space in the game, like the hub area connecting all the other areas and such. A lot of walking from place to place with nothing to keep me interested while doing it on the overworld.

I wasn't as bothered as all that by the N64 smear look or framerate, but I'll be happy to see it gone. Guess I'll find out soon enough if that's enough to make me want to redo the game.

To clear up a bit of seeming confusion- Ura/Master Quest mode has exactly the same people/places/events, but the puzzles in the (geographically identical) dungeons are remixed. Different actions have different effects and such. From what I hear that's the only difference. We'll see if that's right soon enough.
