Like Hell it does! Just Defense is offensively useless, and you block stun anyway. Parrying is unbelievably versitile. Not only do you nullify damage when you parry, but it opens the door for so many counter-attacking options; it nullifies block stun, and cuts recovery frames. Then there's Red Parrying...Quote:

I cannot believe you just said that.
Give me Marco Rodriguez and Gato, and I'll bring the pain! Buck buck buck buck booyaka shot!!!
In all honesty, this is probably my favorite game. Itr has the only boss in a fighting game that I actually enjoy playing against (Grant, not kain).
and GATO OWNZ YOU ALL!
...as well as jae hoon.
Meh. Why hasn't anyone mentioned Hokutomaru or Dong Hwan?
Them and good old bear-wrasslin' Butt're my favorite characters.
Unbelievably versatile, and unbelievably good at making SF3 a bit too defense/turtling prone for my tastes. I know SF3's good, not denying that, and, no, I'm not a Japanese SF3 master or anything so on some level I don't know what I'm talking about, but I prefer Just Defending because it's a bit weaker, and it keeps the game moving along.Quote:

I wasn't trying to suggest that Just Defending is more effective than Parrying - I meant that Just Defending makes for a better game, IMO, than full-on Parrying.
Yes, MotW is indeed greatness... Terry is a powerhouse in it (like always) and Freeman owns. :) Actually there really isn't any character in it that's poor, everyone is at least decent.
Oh! OK then. ;)Quote:

And now that you've put it in context for me, I can deffinitly see where you're coming from. Parrying, though versatile, does make for a "you first...no, you first" kind of game. Just Defending most definitly keeps the flow of the game nice and even the whole way through. :D
You know Sidez...the Japanese aren't the almighty deciders of everything great... ^_-
When it comes to arcades games i'd say what's popular there is usually damn good. I saw way more cabs running Vampire Saviour ;) than any other SNK fighter other than KOF2002.
