As far as I'm concerned, MotW is part of the holy trinity of 2D fighters, along with KoF '98 and 3rd Strike. (Why can't they be putting games like those on Xbox Live, instead of a mediocrity like CvS2?)
In fact, I like it even better than 3rd Strike, which suprised me. The speed, the smooth feel, I couldn't put it down. I must have played through the single player mode at least 100 times. Rock, Dong Hwan, Terry, they're all a blast to use. Supposedly a sequel has been in development for a while...of course, Playmore's said that about quite a few games (SNK vs. Capcom, Samurai Shodown V), so we'll see.
Oh yeah, best game over screen EVER.
"Game Ow-var"
I like it over 3rd Strike not for the gamplay so much as the personality. Most of the characters in SF3... well, they suck. Let's just be honest. It's more like a traveling freak show than a fighting game.
While MoTW has a pirate queen, a karate version of shaft, a man even more evil and spooky than Iori, the list goes on and on. Heck, I can't think of a character I dislike in MoTW. Maybe that police officer guy.
Playing this online would be great fun and great pain. Great fun because it's a great game, great pain because I'm likely to get owned every other match. :p
You know, that's exactly why I never really took to the game. Its engine is absolutely brilliant, but when your roster of characters ranks somewhere behind World Heroes, somebody needs to get fired. If they'd done characters in a similar vein to Alpha, I (and alot of other people, too) would have totally loved SF3.Quote:

As it is, it's the chick that you really like hanging out with, but wouldn't want your friends to catch you dead with.

MOTW is one of the few fighters for me that gets worse and worse the more you play it. Initially it seems really nice but it's too easy to JD and the game engine is boring. Too dull in versus play.................Like most Neo Geo games, way overrated on the internet.
Man, I so agree with the SF3 "freak show" comment. The engine is incredible but the characters suck.
MotW is excellent. It stands out to me as SNK's finest fighting game(except for SNK vs Capcom on NGPC).
I like MoTW good game deffiently had fun with it and will own it one day when i own a Neo
have it on the DC have fun with it
the roster is good albeit very small
still for me the best fighter ever is SFA2
its close to that for meQuote:

though i do love Samurai Shodown II and KoF 98
Strictly a design sense:I much prefer the majority of the SFIII cast to Alpha. Alpha's cleaner, but they really start to blur together after awhile, which doesn't happen to me with SFIII peeps. Oh, Birdie and Sodom definately need to go.Quote:

As for MotW: the Hoons, Rock, Gato, and Freeman are cool. The rest are mostly "eh."
If you ask me, freeman is the only "eh" character of the lot.
btw, if anyone has the pics from the official site and its secret counterpart, I'd really appreciate it if you could hook me up...
It's good.
But kinda shallow... :/
