Whoa...Mark Of The Wolves is great.
I love this game.
About as solid feeling as a 2-D fighter I have come across. Some nice animation and graphics, and a really cool cast. What a nice feel this game has, excellent control.
Rock Howard might be my all time favorite character. I'm trying to master him right now, I feel like I did back in the old SF2 games. His Shinkuu Nage is one of the coolest throws I have ever seen. He got that from Geese, right? Very cool.

Damn, man, get on the trolley.
MOTW is definitely a fantastic game...The Griffon might be my favorite 2d grappler, ever, and Khushnood Butt is fun too. Good gameplay, good damage, the TOP system is fun, Just Defense one-ups Parrying, I think it's my favorite SNK game.

Like Hell it does! Just Defense is offensively useless, and you block stun anyway. Parrying is unbelievably versitile. Not only do you nullify damage when you parry, but it opens the door for so many counter-attacking options; it nullifies block stun, and cuts recovery frames. Then there's Red Parrying...
I cannot believe you just said that.

Unbelievably versatile, and unbelievably good at making SF3 a bit too defense/turtling prone for my tastes. I know SF3's good, not denying that, and, no, I'm not a Japanese SF3 master or anything so on some level I don't know what I'm talking about, but I prefer Just Defending because it's a bit weaker, and it keeps the game moving along.
I wasn't trying to suggest that Just Defending is more effective than Parrying - I meant that Just Defending makes for a better game, IMO, than full-on Parrying.

Oh! OK then. ;)
And now that you've put it in context for me, I can deffinitly see where you're coming from. Parrying, though versatile, does make for a "you first...no, you first" kind of game. Just Defending most definitly keeps the flow of the game nice and even the whole way through. :D
I knew someone would say that!

You know, that's exactly why I never really took to the game. Its engine is absolutely brilliant, but when your roster of characters ranks somewhere behind World Heroes, somebody needs to get fired. If they'd done characters in a similar vein to Alpha, I (and alot of other people, too) would have totally loved SF3.
You are so wrong. I knew someone would say that.
SFIII is one of the few fighting games where I'll play as ANY character. In fact, I rather playing as Q, Necro and Alex. Why? The challenge! And here's the thing: THEY'RE ALL WELL ANIMATED AND THEY MOVE SMOOTHLY.
Mostly in Neo-Geo and CPS2 fighters certain characters are just animated badly so they don't FEEL right when playing. They feel clunky or they whizz around the screen with no style, like Choi (or is it Chang?) in KoF. Yes, it's fun to play as the Seishus and Kyos and Akumas in those games but they're the stylish, well animated ones.
Oh, and the character roster in Alpha 3 is a travesty. Whenever I play that game I get to the character select screen and think 'Hm, I should pick someone different but they're mostly crap. I'll just stick with Ken. Again.'

MotW's characters are animated almost as well, but the clincher is that they're not all fugly. I mean, they even managed to make Chun Li look ugly. What's up with that?

Uh....how can it be a travesty when it's made up of almost every Street Fighter and Final Fight character? I think your eyes are just broken.
