Alrighty, your five favorite Presidents of the USA! List them! Just five. FIVE ONLY. Some people will go nuts and post all 43 of them.
And no politics please, people. Just list your favorite Presidents and refrain from knocking other people's picks. It's fun and interesting to see who people pick and why.
Should you live in another country, feel free to substitute "Presidents of the USA" with whomever leads your country.
And feel free to list me, of course.
5. FDR. I dislike most, if not all, of his social reforms (unlike most Minnesotans; FDR and God are both three letter words which hold high regard in the northern part of the state). However, his leadership in World War II was exactly what the country needed at that time.
4. Dwight Eisenhower. His building of America helped define what it is today. He really opened the doors for cross-country travel and trade. He also seemed to be a good grandfatherly-type figure for the time in which he led the country; a very golden time, to say the least.
3. George Washington. While not an amazing, yet definitely not pathetic, president, George was the first. He brought an amazing amount of prestige to the job and an air of honor to it, as well. He helped establish what the president should be.
2. Abraham Lincoln. On many people's lists and definitely on mine. It took guts to lead the country through the Civil War and he did it better than I can imagine anyone else doing. He not only brought us through the war but made sure that the Union would stay strong by not patronizing the South afterward.
1. Ronald Reagan. My favorite President of all time. Nobody did as much for national pride as Reagan did. He made you feel good to be an American, proud of what you were. He didn't take anything from anyone. He ended the Cold War with Russia which led to the fall of the Berlin Wall. He gave our military a kick-start and put it back into the shape it should be in. He cut taxes which helped the economy and reduced many regulations making it easier to start businesses and make more jobs.
It should be noted that I would have listed JFK but he never served a full term, so we don't know how he would have been in full. I give him props for tax slashing and the space program. I'd probably put W on the list at 5 or something, too, but he's the current pres and I'll wait until he is finished.
