My memory is foggy, but I'm pretty sure I drove into SLO on 154, what ever road it was left quite an immpresion. ..heck I'm gonna check mapquest... nope it was 166. ..your memory is foggy too, (now that I see a map) Los Osos is to the north/west of SLO. :)Quote:

Definately check out Prefumo Cnyn Rd, my boss used to brag that some travel guide had rated it as one of the top 10 most scienic roads in the US. Bring a spare though. The friend who got me my job finally moved 'cause of so many flat tires. I had 3 or 4 in 5 months, and actually split a new tire right between the treads, steel belts and all, as a result of the afore mentioned powerslides.
Yeah, so from the RootRanch we looked right down onto Morrow Bay on the one side, and Shell/Pismo Beach to the other, SeaCnyn and PrefumoCnyn Rds meet right at the top of the peninsula to the west of SLO. SeaCnyn Rd is pretty boring but great for mountain biking (it's entirely paved). The locals will run you off the road if you bike on Prefumo, no joke! PrefumoCnyn Rd is off of LosOsos Valley Rd. Get off the 101 at Madonna Rd, turn left and head past the tacky hotel/resort, turn right at LosOsos Valley Rd, pass the shopping center/BurgerKing, a school will be on your right, and then good luck spotting Prefumo CanynRd on your left somewhere near there. btw, in the short time I was there I saw 2 cars that had rolled off the road. So be careful ;)
Here's some trivia. DriveThru's are against the city oridinance in SLO. And The TacoBell on MadonnaRd has(had) an automatic trash-can flip-door! -you put you tray near it to dump, and a motor cranked the flap back so your hands didn't need to touch any funk.
So anyway Matt, If I ever make it out that way agian, we'll have to get together for some Madman Driving. That was my primary pasttime when I lived on the central coast. :D
