Yes the AICN folks have decided to branch off into the VG industry. Their goal? Be the web's front runner in breaking news and insider info for our beloved industry.
Have the succeded in any respect with their big launch? Heh. That's funny. So far it looks like a fan site begging for actual news and rumors to report. I'm interested in seeing what you guys think.
Oh man. I was there earlier today. It was painful. That article on "Game Boys" managed to be even more embarrassing than that Knowles review where he went on about Guillermo del Toro's pussy eating technique.

Ugh. Uggggh. The site gave me that Dawson's Creek feeling, where I cringe and curse uncontrollably and just wish I could hurt whoever's responsible for creating this junk. I did get a good laugh out of the Splinter Cell review, though. Were you aware it plays a lot like Tomb Raider?
I think everyone who takes Harry Knowles and Co. seriously needs a reality check. :p
AICN didn't start out at the top of the rumor mongers. It took a while to get his "network" going, so even if they are able to get a massive spy network or whatever, it's going to take a while.
As far as the "fan site" remark goes -- what do you think AICN is? It's just a fansite that hit it big.. Don't expect cutting-edge journalism here, folks.

One of the best "insider" sources (other than IGN) from a fansite category was The Gia. Nuff said...
