Out of all the covers, I think the GC one looks the weirdest...I mean, it's just bizarre seeing Link on there. :)

The Xbox box art looks awesome. All the covers look amazing though. Seeing Link is weird. The Xbox version gets Spawn and some other McFarlane character.
Her pan looks really kickass. She has this awesome move where she knocks you to the floor, farts on your forehead...and throws a REALLY hot pancake in your face. Awesome stuff.Quote:

Including Link in the GC rev was a slick move. However, for cover purposes, he's not exactly intimidating. He looks like that little dentist elf (Hermie?) from Rudolf. Rankin/Bass characters should not be gracing Soul Calibur covers. IMO, of course.

As I understood it - each version has different bonus characters. Are there any completists out here that will get all three versions?

-I don't need to pay 100 bucks to play as two more worthless, out of place characters. I'm sure I can find something else worthwhile to waste my money on.
I'll be getting the PS2 version. I don't particularly care about the extra characters, and by that time I should have a good arcade stick. Even if I don't, the PS2 pad is by far the best for fighting games.
I'll get the Xbox version first, maybe pay $40 or so for that, then wait for the other ones to hit $20 get get them.
I still have no idea as to which SC2 is worth playing. Aside from exclusive characters, will there be any differences? Like will the XBox/GC versions look better than the PS2, will the XBox or PS2 versions have downloadable content, etc.?

No downloadable content that we know of.
The only differences, aside from extra characters, are resolutions and such -- the GC rev will look better than the PS2 rev due to higher polys, etc.; the Xbox rev will look better than the GC rev for the same reason.

Just FYI; OXM said (apparently in their rumors section) that SC2 would have Xbox Live play.
OXM says alot of things. Screw them. As far as I know, I thought the only exclusive characters would be the individual ones for each version; otherwise every one will have the same roster, including that lame ass Necrid.
I'll be importing the PS2 version. March 27th can't come soon enough.
If, somehow, the XB version ends up having Live support, I'll pick up the US release of that as well.
Something about seeing a shitty Tekken character on the cover of Soul Calibur II is depressing. It's like Namco is saying, "In case you forgot, this game was constantly delayed not because we wanted to make the best game possible, but because we were busy putting out two vastly inferior button-mashers on the PS2. Thanks." I'll probably pick up the GC version-- it seems like the GC controller is pretty similar to the DC controller (the analog stick, mainly), and I'm a Link-whore.

Eh. They aren't very good, but they aren't bad either. Solid, but it doesn't look like they actually wanted to design good covers, more like a last minute rushjob by a good designer. Although they make Link look like a girl and Heihachi is just... creepy.

I was thinking about getting the GC version, but then I messed around with the controller and found that it wouldn't work out. There are some moves in SC where you have to roll your thumb from one button to another one, on the DC pad it works fine but the GC's buttons are too oddly spaced and too popped up to work well.Quote:

I think the boxart for all 3 looks awesome. Sure link looks weird and a bit overbearing in it but I personally think it looks the best because of it(and I'm a Nintendo fanboy). The X-Box version looks nifty too with Spawn then followed by the PS2 version.
