I am not sure if someone mentioned this here yet or not, but DBZ: Ultimate Battle 22 for the PSOne is coming to america in March. I am pretty sure this game is a peice of trash from what I have heard, but I thought some of you DBZ nuts might be interested in this rather old DBZ game.

Yeah it does say preowned yet it was in the "Coming Soon" area. I think they put Preowned when it should be Pre-Order. The Coming Soon page says its release is 3/25/03. And this game has never been released in the U.S. I know that for sure.

Its the one with 2D characters with 3D fighter gameplay correct? I watched some videos of it a few years ago and it looked like trash.
Yup, first gen PSone title, gameplay gets boring very fast.

No, Legends is the 2D one with 3D backgrounds. UB22 is purely 2D, like an enhanced (take that term as you will) version of the SNES DBZ fighting games.Quote:

Ultimate Battle 22 has 2D Characters with 3D Polygon backgrounds.
Legends is all 2D Characters with Hand drawn backgrounds but is above veiw and you can have six people fighting at once.

Hm. It technically has polygonal backgrounds, but these don't seem much more impressive then Mode7 (probably why I remember them as 2D). At least Legends (which is side-view, btw) had objects in its background that could be smashed through. The ground in Legends is polygonal (which is all UB22 has as well), with bitmap objects.

Eh, the graphics are leagues better then the control. This plays a bit faster, but I think the power battles and Meteor attacks make DBGT:FB the better fighting game.Quote:

UB22 though, man. There's no shortage of bad things that can be said of this game that wouldn't be untrue or exaggerating.

Actually UB22 has a ton of talking. Every character has something to say before each match(After too, if I recall correctly) and you sometimes get somewhat animated cardboard cut-out looking cinemas that can go on for awhile(Gohan vs Cell has a year of talking). I figure all that'll get cut or they'll sub it at the most.Quote:

The Saturn version of UB22 was at least somewhat fun since the special fireball system and screen scrolling were done like in the SNES games.
Oh and Legends is just as bad; if not worse, than this game anyway.
Now lemme get back to trying to forget I've actually played these games.
Yeah... I wish I could forget about all of these games. I picked up Legends on my saturn for $10 Still one of the biggest wastes of times I've ever played.
The character models for UB 22 don't look too bad. That BG looks like utter shit though. You'd think that maybe, just maybe, they'd spruce up a seven year old game.
Maybe while translating UB22 they'll accidentally speed the game up making it almost playable.
