There's also a meter in the lower right that fills as you buzz enemy bullets. Seems to be linked to some kind of shield effect, I've activated it once or twice. Anyone have more complete details on it?
Freeware shooter links are always appreciated. Let's hear what else you've got. :)

From what I could tell, the closer you buzz to shots the more of a "shield" you give off, depending on what you're buzzing. On the second boss (I think) he had a large laser beam and if you buzzed it real close it would divert the bullets around your ship.
As for the meter in the lower right, I think that's a build up for the "super bomb" (which is simply a bullet cancel) that if full will automatically kick in as a shield if you're hit. But I'm pretty hazy on that part so I could be way off.
The ship models are rather bland, but the game play makes up for it. The barrages from the downed enemies are just nuts- I can get to stage 5 in ESPRaDe, but the first boss here flattened me. I'll keep trying, even though I don't think I'll 1-credit it. DDPDOJ and Psyvariar don't put out that many bullets...
The scrape chain meter is an interesting touch, considering the bullets keep right on coming.
Lordmrw- thanks for posting. :D
The lower right gauge, when filled by Grazing, does indeed activate a shield for a couple seconds if you're hit. The first boss also has a fatal flaw in one of his patterns, in which you can sit in the middle of the screen and not get hit. Oh well, the second stage makes up for that by whupping my ass.
Alright, this one is a simply incredible 3D shooter in the sense that it is home made. Plays alot like Panzer Dragoon with the lock on laser, minus the rotating the view aspect. Your shield can be held on indefinitely, but when you get hit, its energy will go down. Didn't play it very long (saving that for later), but I like it.

Sailen is quite nice. My only complaint is the lack of music included. Good thing my 333mhz machine can run it and WinAmp at the same time, along with some beefed up graphics. Astral Project seems to work pretty well with it. :)
Thanks for the link. Time to download the second one...
Ack! Who's got a link to Nippon Shooting?
ugly, I like it though
